Where to find a girl friend in Thailand?

My girl friend is different is a common joke among expats and male tourists who is visiting Thailand frequently, and Im wondering where is the best place to meet a girl friend in Thailand, who you are willing to invest in? 
 

If Im going to guess, most I know is together married or not, with girls who chased foreigners to get a decent life. Non of us ask each other where we met, and we really do not care, but my guess, most of us met a girl who for sure have a history. Common for everyone, they speak decent english, know western culture and food, and very few have higher education. Not everyone is from Isaan, just to mention.

Nearly every woman I ever had sex with I met in a bar.

1st time, met her in a Bar during a church youth club camping trip to Alderney.

1st wife met her in a University bar Bath.

1st Thai lover, met her in a ChiangMai bar.

 

 

Essentially, without bars I'd probably still be a virgin.

Met current wife at sis's restaurant/food stall, at a 'Thai' night market.  At the time, was one of a few, if that, of farangs that visited that market, as larger more popular areas (that I avoided) were nearby.

 

She turned me down numerous times, for lunch & dinner when asked.   Quite frankly, the only female that ever did, in social setting.

 

Only after 6 months of observing me with my daughter at the market, and sis's stall (took la aroi), did she finally warm up to the idea of dating a farang.

 

17 yrs later, all is good, married for 9 of them.  Didn't want to rush into anything, as two 2 yr courtships and one 11 week courtship didn't last long after married.

I'm not in the market for a Thai girlfriend, but I couldn't help but notice that Café Amazon girls are, more often than not, polite and beautiful. Some are also quite flirty.

Girlfriend #1 was from a Bangkok family but we were in Khon Kaen. One day I asked here where she was (Thai conversation she didn't speak English):

 

Her: I am at the xyz hotel with some of my girlfriends from Bangkok.
Me: Oh, what are they like?
Her: They are very pretty
Me: Will I get to meet them?
Her: No.
Me: Why not?
Her: You may run off with some other girl but it's not going to be because *I* introduced you to her

 

However, many years later, I actually did end up running off and marrying one of her friends but not one of the above girls.

I met my wife on a blind date. And that's not a joke!

I have a Thai friend in England who, unbeknown to me had been calling around friends an family, trying to fix me up on a date after she'd learned I was visiting her home town of Chiang Mai.

The date in question ended up being one of the strangest days I have ever had but against the odds we clicked and are still together 17 years later.

I guess the same goes for the thai girls looking for a good wealthy man! Some is lucky, some is not

Not only gf, lover, chef, cleaner, cook, driver, caretaker, nurse,  economic responsible and shopping. Pick your choices wisely. 

 

Others get a partner for life and a best friend which I believe it is how it should be.

Finding a gf is easy.  Literally in Bangkok or Pattaya you can find one in a day.

But, finding one that you can communicate with, have a meaningful conversation and who asks you questions and seems interested in your life is more difficult.

Seems extremely desperate and shallow to me when I see some using Google translate to communicate.

I met all my girlfriends online. Mostly Tinder, but one on TF. I've been together with one of the Tinder ladies for over 5 years. No dead buffalos or sick grannies involved, and my missus makes more money than I do.

Yes, I got chit chattin' to the Mitsubishi service rep a couple times, when taking the car in for service, and dated her for a while.

 

Couple other 1 month or 3, relationships were met while out at Thai music/bar/restaurant venues, locally, so I think non working gals.

 

First Thai wife, classic meet on  Phuket holiday ????, but escaped unscathed, luckily.  Actually turning a small profit on land/house sale via POA.  A little paperwork protection goes a long way.  All good, as I wouldn't have met my 2nd Thai wife or daughter if not living in Udon Thani.
