Alireza Akbari: Widespread outrage after British-Iranian executed

Featured Replies

Alireza Akbari in an undated photo. He was former defense minister in Iran and a dual citizen of Iran and Britain.

The execution of British-Iranian man Alireza Akbari, who had been sentenced to death, has been widely condemned.

The ex-deputy Iranian defence minister was arrested in 2019 and convicted of spying for the UK, which he denied.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said his execution was a "callous and cowardly act, carried out by a barbaric regime".

So, Iran won't care about the outrage.

Perhaps they did not see the widespread outrage.  Did you?

He was born in Iran.    Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.  You get caught helping terrorist nations kill someone, in Iran, you die.  As it should be.

Like the Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe  this man wasn't British-Iranian, he was Iranian-British.  Iran does not recognise dual nationality.  Like Zaghari-Ratcliffe he entered Iran on an Iranian passport and so was an Iranian citizen in Iran and thus nothing to do with Britain at all,

So the UK was invited into Iraq & Afghanistan ...

... my mistake ????

The  Ilois folks are still waiting to be allowed back to their homes on the Chagos Archipelago islands that were stolen from them.

Shameful ... the list is endless.

The UK were part of a coalition that invaded Iraq in 2003 and Iraq had previously invaded Iran and Kuwait themselves , but going off topic
