A few more details of this case would not go amiss. What did the bank staff do? What  punishment did they receive from the court for their part in the 200MB granny grab.? Are they still working for Kasikorn Bank.............same branch or moved to some rural upcountry branch?

I uncovered a bank worker stealing interest from foreigners and got a former minister of finance to investigate. 

I was successful in getting the large bank to start giving many foreigners interest but was told if I asked to get it backdated, the woman would lose her job. Reluctantly, I never asked for back payments.

Surely it's a criminal offence. They should not only be out of work but in prison.

She was the friend of the director of the school my daughter was at. I actually got fired for revealing the crime but I thought if I took it further it wouldn't be good on my daughter's education.

There should be prison time for the criminals. This is a major problem with Justice in Thailand. It seems the Judges don't punish many criminals, they just try to return things the way were before the crime. There should be major punitive damages awarded.

Years back it was common to see many Thais on the street with bank book in top pocket.

 

I asked a colleague about it. He laughed, and said 'they keep their book handy so every day it's easy to pop into the bank and get the balance updated, because they don't trust the bank'.

From my experience, there are mostly small scammers in Thailand. Sometimes fun to watch how inexperienced they are. Nothing compared to those in the western world. That's where the biggest scammers are. Bernie Madoff for instance. But their are countless others. Some of them are even big companies.

If mum is worth 200 million baht, the daughter won't be short of a baht nor the contacts required to ensure she avoids prison time. There is seldom justice to be found when dealing with the crimes of the Thai rich.

And he pays handing the bill folder to a member of staff. Yet when the change, if any, comes the staff pass it to her. That really pisses me off.
