Phuket – The President of the Andaman Guide Association has clarified about a rumor about officers allegedly extorting money from a Saudi Arabian tourist.

The story came to light after this week an unidentified tour guide spoke out on a Thai television news program following national news around the extortion of a Taiwanese Actress. He said a tour guide in Phuket messaged him about corrupt law enforcement officers allegedly placing illegal drugs on a Saudi Arabian tourist. They then extorted money from the tourist of roughly one million baht.

I'm sure it's all a misunderstanding, as there is no extortion by cops in Thailand (according to the police).

Wow. I am convinced. That was some very skillful PR. Phuket must feel such pride in having so much talent to work with. They are so good they could likely convince a few hundred people that Prayuth is honest or that the Thai army is a noble organization. Impressive.

The rumor was clarified by pointing out that..…fair, honest, and professional police only extort money from tourists that can afford it…… and everyone knows Saudis have lots of money.

Just add it to the list, but don't expect any outcome.

It happened a long time ago, was never investigated, so I'm sure it didn't happen.

True. I still have to meet a Laotian or Burmese who had 1 million, or even 27,000 baht extorted by Thailand's finest.
