Ugandan to Thailand

Featured Replies

Hello my internet friends,

As an American, bringing my Uganda fiancé to Thailand what visa company could efficiently and quickly, obtain a visa for my Ugandan partner ?

Maybe this helps?

But do please note the text on that page

Local citizens and/or foreign nationals settled in Uganda who wish to apply for any type of visa mentioned above must apply in person at the nearest Royal Thai embassy or consulate in Uganda. Please note that application procedures and fees may vary depending on your location.

So IMHO you maybe better off getting a visa agent in Uganda for her as a local Agent (maybe) won't be able to get her into Thailand as she has to deal with the local Embassy over there.

If you can afford it, the only easy solution to bring your Ugandan partner to Thailand would be a Thailand Elite membership.

The OP gave minimal details.

Did not even state if he lives in Thailand and if so what type of visa/extension he has in Thailand.

"Fiance" means nothing regarding visa options for Thailand.

A quick Google search outlines options for Ugandan citizens to visit Thailand.

Where I currently reside, has anything to do with brining someone to Thailand who isn't exempt from obtaining a visa.

Thanks for being so helpful.

Have a great day.

First up you are not bringing someone to thailand.

Girlfriend or otherwise.

He/She will need to satisfy Thai immigration requirements for particular nationality.

Out of interest I Googled that and there is lot of information available.

Suggest that you check it out.

Added note: You state where you reside has nothing to do with it.....

If someone lives in Thailand for example on retirement with annual extensions and has a non Thai wife there is an option for that wife to live in Thailand as dependent.

Check your facts.

Irrespective of the OP's personal status, the person requiring a visa,

if a Ugandan citizen or permanent resident, will be required to apply

at the nearest Thailand consulate, either in Kampala or in a country

close by, eg Nairobi, Kenya.

Why are you being so unfriendly?

The purpose of these forums to seek info without Google.

Because on this articular question I found very little by way of past threads and in contrast found a lot of info with Google search.

Thought of posting some links however it's easier for someone to go directly.

What advice have you provided? Nothing.

I also pointed out that if indeed he marries then there is option to piggyback on his non O if he is eligible for one.

Very few details provided so hard to advise.

Some feel the need to reply to any post, regardless if they know the answer to the question or not.

I have no idea how a Ugandan could get a visa, so obviously don't reply.

If offering advice, I'd tell the OP to join a web forum about Thailand and ask the friendly members if they've any experience in this matter.

Perhaps yourself or OP can read one of the many links from net.

Despite suggesting to OP info regarding piggyback option he provides zero info.

How long does the visit entail etc etc

One example here.

If OP resides in Pattaya, there many Ugandans working there.  Easily recognizable as they look quite different from the usual Russians and Chinese.

I would talk to them.

I was told by one of them that it was easy to get a 3-months-visa in Uganda. But OP didn't even tell us whether his fiancé (that is a man, BTW, not a girlfriend as someone erroneously wrote) right now is in Uganda, or in the US, or In Ushuaia. He also didn't tell us whether 3 months would satisfy his needs.

How can you tell the difference between Russians, Chinese and Ugandans ?

They all pretty much look the same to me

Seriously? It is not easy to distinguish Ugandans from some other Africans, but (to most people) they look very different from Caucasians or Chinese.

EDIT: With all nationalities, there are significant variations between individuals, but maybe some typical images of Ugandan, Russian and Chinese men will help:
