Thailand maybe now it is time to put your money where your mouth is?

Choose sides and stop letting Russians into the country!

I am happy that Thailand is welcoming Russian draft dodger refugees even though they conveniently label them tourists

I find that a bit double,i think a lot of them do not want to fight but

still support the war.

My view is that in a way all Russians are responsible for what is going on.

I also understand that there is not much they can do if they indeed are against the war.

Like i said ,a bit double.

I agree with you but better here than killing Ukrainians and or dead

However, seven countries—Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea, Mali, Nicaragua, Russia, and Syria—opposed the resolution.

32 countries, including China, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Vietnam, and Laos, chose to abstain.

How predictable; Belarus and Syria reliant on Russia(n troops). Same as for Mali (Wagner Group mercenaries). North Korea, Nicaragua, and Eritrea as Russia's buddies...

South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Laos indebted to, and reliant on Russia's best buddy China. Vietnam worried about border troubles with China, and India just enjoying great business with, and cheap oil from Russia...

Yes , i think this is correct; fortunately President Xi is somewhat more astute than much of the Western Media portrays him.

Not withstanding his repeated intention to invade Taiwan, regardless of their resistance and threat of dire consequences to any other nations that come to Taiwans aid.

All this is mostly for show, but I find interesting what Orban is reported as having said: that Russia at this point can't win, but as a political matter Putin can't afford to lose, so what's left is to turn Ukraine into a wasteland and then depart.

Further, I know Russia is a (very) bad actor, but I still think the EU could have handled their side of it all better before the invasion started. Unless of course, they wanted it to happen; but incompetence may be a better explanation.

Not the EU, but UK....Russia and Ukraine had a peace agreement and than Boris Johnson stopped it. The EU want it

Web26 Jan 2023 · Although most of Russia's landmass is in Asia, much of the Russian population lives in the European part of the country. About 77% of Russia’s 143 million people live in the territory that lies in Europe. This includes Russia's most populous city, Moscow, which is still the country's capital. It has more than 12 million residents, making it ..

Russia stretches all the way to Japan and the USA going easterly

So what? Most Russians live in the European part of Russia

No doubt to the fury of the tinpot generals in Naypyitaw, (who buy many weapons from Russia to murder their own citizens), Myanmar's UN representative voted in favour of the resolution...

Thailand has this one right..

Look around you, the world is fracturing and tearing itself apart in front of your eyes. Do you want more war ? escalation ?  Really ?   fools all .. Regardless of the bitter pill needed to be swallowed, concede Russia the regions taken and stand down this madness or talk of more deadly arms & weapons being sent,  before all become drawn into a far greater conflict .... Negotiated terms are the only way wars end & this MUST be started asap.

Ceasefire leading to peace negotiations is the only sane option...the alternative is more death more escalation & more WAR ... take your pick but do not come here and call for more war while you lie safe in bed in a safe place. ( for now ) ..

To murder men and gie God thanks ?
Desist for shame, proceed no further.
God won't accept your thanks for murder.”

It is very simple: Russia is the aggressor and only needs to withdraw from Ukraine. No one is going to invade Russia if they stay behind their own borders. Everything else is just propaganda from a paranoid former KGB man.

And than? Crimea voted for >90% to join Russia. The Ukraine secret service is killing traitors (people who cooperate with Russia). Ukraine does not accept rights for the Russian minority. And they didn't follow the previous Minsk agreement. So if Russia withdraw you need first other solutions from the international community to prevent a mass killing of the Russian minority or move them all to Russia mainland.
That Klitschko is talking about rolling the tanks thru Moscow and executing Putin is not helping making Putin less paranoid.

I agree, Thailand does have this one right. It signed up for the new UN resolution calling for Russia's immediate withdrawal from Ukraine to stop the war and hold peace talks in line with the UN Charter and international law.

Only 7 countries voted against it. Belarus, Nicaragua, Russia, Syria, North Korea, Eritrea and Mali

It is more insidious than that.....he has ambitions to take a lot of the land to the West and create a bigger Union..... if people think it stops after Ukraine they are missing something.....think back about 85 years!

He had his troops in Kazakhstan and in Georgia already and could have taken these countries without any additional fighting and didn't do it. I really don't think that he wants more land...Russia is big enough. And 85 years ago Germany was not big enough they needed land. And when you look it is not Russia that expanded but the NATO built the bases everywhere close to Russia (and China).

You should check on who did not follow Minsk

A major blockage has been Russia’s insistence that it is not a party to the conflict and therefore is not bound by its terms.

Of course Ukraine also had its failures in its implementation

yesyes....
Ukraine never intended to follow the agreement: they proudly told that they only signed it to win time to get their army stronger.
Ukraine daily shoot artillery into civilian areas with a total of 14.000 Russians dead. No one ever claimed that these republics shoot at villages in Ukraine.
There is no doubt that Russia is also lying, non of them is a honest player but they didn't kill civilians on a daily base and they don't boast about faking agreement. And Russia has several other "frozen" conflicts that are more or less calm.
Putins politics is strange: He could have gone to Kiev in 2014 install the old legit government again, force elections and go out without much blood. Or he could have given that 2 regions safety guarantees in 2014/15 and go in enforce a 50km safety zone.
But he did nothing from 2014-2022 and than start a full blown war. That is at least incompetence.

More lies there were never 14,000 Russian civilians killed, infact civilian casualties before their illegal invasion last year were minimal as you can see in the chart below.

There were 3,404 killed though which included Ukrainian civilians and that figure includes those from flight MH17 that was shot down by Russian backed separatist forces. This from UN official figures: pdf
