Police in Phuket have arrested a Swedish man who is accused of being involved in the production of illegal drugs. According to media reports, 34 year old Christopher Daniel Joachim Borg was arrested yesterday.

The deputy commander of Phuket Provincial Police, Jirasak Siemsak, says the man’s arrest was carried out as part of the “Phuket Crime-Free” campaign. It involved around 100 police officers, including officers from Immigration and the Tourist Police.

It’s understood the Swede is accused of being involved with several other unidentified people, in the production of illegal narcotics and of possession of drugs. Jirasak says his Thai visa has been revoked ahead of him being deported as “he is an offender and conspired with other defendants in the production and possession of narcotic substances”.
