As a kid brought up on the Apollo program and Fireball XL-5 these videos never cease to amaze me.

 

Arthur C Clarke may have invented the communications satellite but Gerry Anderson invented the reusable spacecraft.

 

All we need now is horizontal take-off and single stage to orbit.

 

That booster has flown (and landed) 12 times!

I was lucky enough to watch Sputnik pass overhead during it's first orbit.

Mercury to today. My grandfather was grateful to have lived from the time of the first cars to seeing walks on the moon and landing of the shuttle.

Mind you, SpaceX did have a few failures before they managed to land that first stage successfully back on Earth ????

Landing on the moon was a great achievement; landing on Earth, less impressive.  Even Colin Macrae managed that.
