Strange. When those Hostesses arrive in a car in their village, they are much admired by the family. Them able to pay Grandmother for the education of her children. The money generated for this venture coming from "Farang Hot Spots" and not from Fathers "Rice-Patty".

As the OP, I am surprised at the many responses. Would like to add some final comments.

- Most comments seem to agree that "hostesses" have contributed a great deal to the economic enhancement of the Isaan over the last 20 to 30 years.
- A minority has uttered the opinion, that the Sodom and Gomorrah "Garden(s) of Eden" in Thailand should be eliminated.
The reason, why such remaining "Gardens of Eden" should be eliminated at all cost is not clear. Unless some religious Hokus-Pokus comes into play.

May the liberal approach between the Sexes in Thailand last a while longer. Hopefully.

Live and let live, for example. A nice approach for a more tolerant world. Unless the "Moral-Apostels" spoil it all for the rest of the world. Burning "Immoral individuals" at the stakes once more. Rinse and repeat, but hopefully not in Thailand.

On this forum folks are self obsessed by the farang trade, yet the majority of paid sex is Thai-Thai. 

 

You can essentially go to any town or city in Thailand outside the farang tourist sex spots and there is a wealth of 'karaoke' bars servicing the local male clientele

This is a forum for farangs in Thailand. What do you expect? That we discuss what is going on in the areas of Thailand where farangs don't go?

Many of us are happy to understand, at least in part, the Thai-farang dynamics. How many of us understand Thai to Thai behavior? I would guess: few, if any of us really understand that.

But there are many of us that have never lived in Pattaya, Phuket and have only been exposed to the domestic market, which is very extensive

When I arrived in Thailand about 30 years ago I had a look at the domestic market in Bangkok, especially the soapy places. My conclusion was that most of us have a different taste than Thais. I like small and brown and cute, it seems most Thai men want (more or less) white, tall, and not skinny.

So it seems to me that is a good reason why those businesses are more or less separated by nationality. We are not looking for the same.

 

I.e. I am pretty sure most Thai guys wouldn't be interested to have sex with a girl like this.

Well there is something to be said for that.

 

Thai perception of beautiful is pale skinned, hence the abundance of whitener pills and potions.

 

Mrs G, old bird that she now is has always told me since she's obviously Lao just didn't conform to the Thai version of beautiful.

 

Still a sexy old dusky woman in my eyes however
