Putting that aside, and no travel insurance, what i do not understand is why truck insurance is not paying? Why police are not forcing truck owner to pay? So far we only have one version of the accident. Possibly the truck driver was not at fault.

He'd been drinking with the lads and was riding without a helmet and using his phone. No insurance company in their right mind would offer a travel policy that converted such an event and if they did the premiums would be prohibitively expensive. That's Underwriting 101. 7

Popular Post KhunLA
hmm... ... drinking ... no helmet ... no insurance ... leave 5 kids in UK, only 32 yrs old ... with GF on int'l holiday ... family at side, instead of home, saving money, selling something or borrowing on their assets, as he is in a coma, so useless to be here Not winning much sympathy, as life seems to be filled with irresponsibility, that has now caught up to him. 2 weeks in a coma isn't looking too good. Their donation link sucks, not that I was going to contribute, just curious what & if they are close to their goal. All I get out of this is: 1. out for a drink with the lads 2. on his motorbike in the early hours 3. no helmet 4. on the phone I wouldn't want to assume, but............

Next time be more responsible, wear a helmet, be mindful you got kids and a fam. Don't drink and drive. Do other nationalities get in the same situation, in a hospital, unable to pay, and seeking to get home? Or is it we just don't see stories in Chinese, Russian, or French language media? Usually because the Russian, Chinese and European press don't see any interest in articles such as these. The British press would make a story out of a Brocken toe nail, especially where Thailand is involved. Ha!. Remember" Thai citizens living and working in the UK have access to FREE medical care. 1
Bazerino
There's a few heartless comments as usual for the misfortune of others, but they are probably the kind of people that think they are so perfect, but just remember that anyone of us can be wiped out or maimed for life in an instance, even more so if you live here permanently, but in the unlikely event of it happening to you or your family or friends, don't be looking for much sympathy on here..... 1 1 1

Popular Post CM Dad
Thirty-two years old and already with five children, so he decides to "follow his dream" and come to Thailand looking for work. Once here he rides a motorbike without a helmet while out drinking with friends and is involved in an accident while riding the bike and talking on his phone. He sounds like a really responsible guy. He wasn't smart enough to wear either a condom or a helmet. I'm sorry about his current condition, but people often create their problems when they act without thinking. His mother should be more concerned about her five grandchildren. 12 1

Popular Post CFCol
Yet again a tourists family expecting strangers to pay for their family members lack of common sense. No insurance, no helmet, driving a scooter,(probably without a full license), In the early hours of the morning,(possibly over the limit). I live on Samui and see this kind of begging letter frequently. I feel sorry for his kids, but dad should have been more responsible. I
