At least two dozen people – from Mar-a-Lago resort staff to members of Donald Trump’s inner circle at the Florida estate – have been subpoenaed to testify to a federal grand jury that’s investigating the former president’s handling of classified documents, multiple sources familiar with the investigation told CNN.

On Thursday, Trump’s communications aide Margo Martin, who worked in the White House and then moved with Trump to Florida, appeared before the grand jury in Washington, DC. One of special counsel Jack Smith’s senior-most prosecutors was involved in the interview.

Martin, who is among a small group of former White House advisers who have remained employed by Trump after he left office, declined to answer any questions when approached by a CNN reporter.

You won't find information on what the classified documents contained.

Why hasn't that information been released ?

(Not the actual information , just the topic of the information )

Because it's classified.

It's very easy to identify the people on this forum who have never worked with classified.

It could also be that nothing of any significance was found ?

Except Trump’s own lawyers have made statements confirming classified documents were found, Trump himself has confirmed classified documents were found.

Actually, the story in this forum about Trump's lawyer Corcoran being ordered to testify is really about the lies told by the Trump team to the Justice Dept. It was Corcoran who composed the document attesting that all documents requested by the National Archives had been turned over. It was signed by another Trump lawyer. Afterwards, when Justice dept officials were on the Mar y Lago premises, they requested to see what was in a clearly visible box being held in the storage area. They were refused permission. Ultimately, when the search warrant was served lots of documents were found in the box including some marked classified. Other documents marked classified were found in Trump's bedroom.

So, if the judge's order for Corcoran to testify is upheld, as seems likely, he will have to reveal whether it was Trump who told him that no more unauthorized documents remained. Seems unlikely that a lawyer would have composed a false statement without consulting his client.  And a deliberate lie is clearly an instance of obstruction of justice.

Highly classified documents were found.  That was very significant.

You have once again confirmed that you know nothing about the subject.

Are they going to give the same diligence to Biden for the classified documents found on his property? If not, why not?

Dozens of Mar-a-Lago staff, from servers to aides

Seriously? Do they think Trump asked them to carry the documents around the house and explained that they were classified documents that he shouldn't have been keeping?

This gets more and more like a Mickey Duck investigation, IMO.

Clueless. Of course they want to establish how Trump reacted after he agreed to turn over all unauthorized documents to the National Archives.

Because there's no evidence that Biden knew he had them in his possession. And it's only a crime if you can prove someone willfully refused to hand over documents. It's also a crime to lie about continued possession of said documents. That's called obstruction of justice.
