I want to ship some furniture to the Republic of Ireland so can anyone point me in the right direction please?

A shipping agent?

Does anyone know how this actually works from point A my house to point B my Irish house?

Would it be better & a damn sight cheaper to bring the stuff to the docks (Laem Chabang, Map Ta Phut etc) & collect from the docks?

Container?

As you can read I don't have a clue how this actually down & what duties might be due.

Google search brings up tonnes of companies but I would like to be forearmed first so that I am not taken to the cleaners.

I see ads in the news letter here sometimes for shipping out of Thailand.  I think they say safe removal from Thailand.

We used Asian Tigers to ship our stuff to the US.

Great service they came to our home, packed very efficiently everything we were taking, did all the customs paperwork, 8 weeks later delivered to our house in the US, no damage.

This is the contact we had, who knows if he's still there, but it's a start

Eagle Freight shipped stuff for me to Australia some years back (home ornaments, antiques over 5 years ago) good mob, decent rates, safe, insured, helpful, with packing etc.

I went to the Pratuman main offices, easy to park in their driveway/bays and unload.

Seven seas was mentioned above. I've used them before for work when moving country. Not cheap but they deliver boxes or crates, you can pack and they handle everything
