Floridians may actually have o practice responsible sex.   No more abortions of convenience.    Should fit right in with Christian values ... or not.

Good thing half the state is probably past child bearing age.   Still get their freak on with no worries ... except maybe throwing their back out ????

12 of the 19 million shouldn't have to worry:

A bit of a hit coming the way for Florida women who are past the age of viable pregnancy but nevertheless become pregnant.

Typical punitive attitude of the right when it comes to sex.

And what this means for poor women in the region is particularly awful. They're going to have to travel farther and more expensively if they want to get an abortion. Already the costs are prohibitively high for many.

Not a punitive attitude at all. Just a recognition that having sex brings the possibility of becoming a parent. I would call that a responsible attitude and one that would hopefully encourage people to think before they bump ugly.

Why would poor women have to travel farther?

Not to mention this would be a great place for pro abortion charities to get involved, and collect the funds necessary to help those in need.

Really? Maybe that would happen if the Beaver's and Wally's parents separated. Bur for single mother familes the father generally pays child support.?

Only 1 in 4 Single-Mother Families Receive Child Support

According to 2019–2021 data in the KIDS COUNT® Data Center, just 24% of U.S. female-headed families reported receiving any amount of child support during the previous year. Female-headed families refer to unmarried women living with one or more of their own children under age 18, which may include stepchildren and adopted children.

One in three kids — nearly 24 million — lives with single parents, mostly single moms. In fact, according to 2022 Census Bureau data, of the 10.9 million one-parent families with children under age 18, 80% were headed by a mother.

If the men are actual deadbeats and not paying court ordered support, then they need to be tracked down and have their wages garnished. Responsibility for actions.  No need for kids to suffer if one of their parents is a bum.

Many red states are considering legislation that will prevent women from crossing state lines to get an abortion. Those aiding such travel would also be subject to prosecution.

Idaho's governor signed a law this week making it illegal for an adult to transport a minor to get an abortion without their parents' consent, making Idaho the first state to limit interstate travel for abortion, as Republican lawmakers nationwide continue to limit abortion access.

So, to make them think about it, they get to be saddled with an unwanted pregnancy to take through to completion? What punitive SOBs the anti-abortionists are.

Hopefully they will think about it BEFORE doing the deed.  Even so with this law they are allowed a generous month and a half to stop the pregnancy. Plus morning after pills, which AFAIK are still available in Florida.

This bill allows abortions up to 15 weeks for rape and incest, and also for risk of life/substantial health risk of the mother. So it is not actually a ban.  More an imposition of responsibility on people who choose to be sexually active.

Those will account for 0.0000001 % of abortions ????
