Popular Post Foexie
Last week me, my wife, some family of her and the puppy went to a waterfall near Pattani for relaxing. I mention the puppy because it was so hot and she likes to play in cool water. So the wife and family go for a swim and me watch the pup. After a while it started to feel bored so i took it for a walk direction the water planning to let it go in the water. At the edge of the waterfall i saw a board with some rules on it. One rule was: no pets alowed! Ok that's a bummer so we walk back. After a while we go strowling again and we pass a little shelter where some rangers stay in. That time i asked one of them in little thai i speak if the pup really can't go in for a swim. The man answered " mai". And when i asked why not, and i guess he didn't speak english because the only thing he could answer me was "islam". I respect everybody for his thoughts and religion and to be honnest sometimes i really not understand why somebody think or do this or that but so be it. But how can it get this far in a country what always been buddhist, and still is 90 or 95% if i'm correct, that again an islam minority get the rest so far the change the rules for them?! Is it really going to be the islam way or the high way???? 3 5
Popular Post stoner
please tell me you are not this ignorant. pattani is not a buddhist area of thailand at all. 21 minutes ago, Foexie said: But how can it get this far in a country what always been buddhist, and still is 90 or 95% if i'm correct, that again an islam minority get the rest so far the change the rules for them?! most of the people in this region are actually ethnic malay muslims. in fact pattani shouldn't even really be a part of thailand. 11 1 3

Popular Post BangkokReady
Perhaps it's easier to simply say it's religious, as less people are likely to argue. They probably just didn't want animals <deleted>ting and pissing everywhere and possibly attacking children. Seems fairly sensible. 8 1

Burma Bill
11 hours ago, orchis said: Pattani is mainly muslim. Read a history book, perhaps. Yes indeed and for reference: Pattani, also spelled Patani, town, southern Thailand, on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula. The town is located at the mouth of the Pattani River. Pattani was an independent Muslim city-state, ruling a large portion of the surrounding region until the 16th century, when it became a vassal state of Siam (now Thailand). After 1800 it was divided into seven smaller units, which were incorporated as Siamese provinces in the early 20th century. https://www.britannica.com/place/Pattani Edited April 24, 2023 by Burma Bill additional information
ThaiFelix
When is to much to much? When people still dont know the difference between "to" and "too"! Its just too much to handle! One-one was a racehorse, Two-two was one too, One-one won one race. Two-two won one too!
NoshowJones
Heh! Heh! The UK used to be a Christian country, look at it now, an ethnic "minority" PM. Also what about Scotland? A Muslim First Minister. Thailand may have had a soldiers government for the last nine years, but even with a soldiers mentality, that sort of thing would never be allowed to happen in Thailand.
