Coach Crash in Surat Thani Leaves Five Dead and Many Injured
Pictures from responders. A coach crash late night on January 1, on Route 41 in Surat Thani province has left five dead and dozens injured. The incident occurred near the Pa We intersection in Chaiya district, where the coach rolled onto its side and crashed into a tree. The vehicle, a green and white Hino air-conditioned coach with license plate from Nakhon Pathom, was carrying approximately 38 passengers, most of whom were elderly tourists returning from a trip to Betong, Yala province. The group had rented the coach for a chartered journey and was en route to Samut Sakhon. Authorities reported that five passengers were pronounced dead on-site, while 30 others sustained injuries, including three in critical condition. Rescue teams promptly transported the injured to Chaiya and Tha Chang hospitals for treatment. The crash reportedly occurred on a bend in the road. According to the driver, 47-year-old Mr. Suthep, he lost control of the coach and it veered off the road before colliding with a tree. “I was driving back from Betong when the accident happened on a curve. I didn’t realise what had happened until the crash was over,” he said. Local police detained the driver and his assistant for questioning at Chaiya Police Station, as investigations into the cause of the crash continue. The authorities and rescue workers, including the Kusol Sattha Surat Thani Foundation, worked to extract injured passengers from the wreckage. Juristic want's to ban weed possession in the building - are there other weed free condos?
A completely revolting habit and smell. And so is cigarette smoke. The smell of burning cannabis can be nice when it isn't too strong. It kind of has a pleasant herbal scent to me. Even though I vape, I still wouldn't want to be stuffed in a room full of heavy cannabis smoke either though. Basically all smoke is unhealthy to breathe in and I don't want to breathe any smoke that I don't need to. In fact, everyone should have the human right not to be forced to breathe in any second hand smoke at all if they don't want to. To me that right applies both in the home and in public places. Condos are semi-public places in the sense that it's basically a shared living space. If you don't want to live in that sort of communal living environment where you have to be mindful of others then you need to get yourself a house and you can smoke it up all you want. -

Fallacious reasoning and wording: technically, they did have the possibility to not get vaccinated, but at great cost. It wasn't a case of simply saying "no thanks" and carrying on as normal. Refusal to receive the jab, for most people, resulted in immediate termination of employment and the quasi-impossibility of finding a new job, in an already very precarious situation following the lockdowns. This matches the legal definition of coercion.- 1

Unpacking an Unusual Thai/American/British Trio in Nana
I'm now back at base camp. But earlier I hit up the bowels of the Soi Nana street-scene for a couple of short-times. First I met up with my good mate Rodriguez at one of the beer bars along Soi 4. We gathered up at 20:00 for a few quick drinks, but not too much quaffing was on the menu for us because we had other plans. So we pushed the boat out and then headed on into the Soi. The first ST round went as usual for me, fast and functional, same for Rodriguez, but it was during my second visit to the same short-time hotel a couple hours later where things turned a bit more unordinary. As I was heading back to the hotel with Mrs. Tonight #2, I noticed a British/American couple sitting out front. They looked like typical tourist-couple party types in their early 30s, a bit sunburned, and clearly already several drinks in deep. They looked to be going the whole hog on whatever it was that they were getting tanked up on. With them was also a Thai woman, probably in her late 30s or (more likely) 40s. She was holding her own with the couple, helping to pour the drinks, and they seemed to all be having a bit of a good laugh together, clinking their glasses and likely working their way through some kind of strong spirits. Nothing surprising so far, but then the American bloke from the group followed me into the hotel lobby. He started asking the hotel staff about short-time rates for three people in a room and whether they could get an extra towel and extend the standard time limit on the room rental period. I helped translate into Thai what he wanted as I saw the Thai staff were clearly struggling to interpret his drunken, slurred English. It’s not exactly a rarity though to see an expat couple bringing in a Thai sex worker for a bit of group fun together, but this trio seemed a bit different. For starters, the Thai woman stood out. She wasn’t the rough-and-tumble type you often see in these scenarios. She actually looked quite good for her age, well put-together and having aged more gracefully, without looking haggard or with the usual telltale signs of significant wear and tear or visible tattoos that so many of the older workers in the trade often portray. She wasn’t stunning by any means, nor one that would interest me, but she had a charm and elegance about her that made her presence more intriguing. Her dress wasn't sleazy, but she was wearing some tight-fitting black pants and a bright pink top which exposed a bit more than usual on the curves and abdomen, but also suggested she could have been out on the game. What really caught my attention was the vibe between them though. She didn’t exude the hardened demeanor of a seasoned sex worker looking to get it all over with so quickly. Instead, she seemed genuinely relaxed, laughing along with the couple, with decent English, and giving off the air of someone enjoying the moment. There was no discomfort in her body language and no sense that she was merely tolerating their company for the sake of a quick payout. I was surprised though because she did seem a bit above their level. The couple themselves weren’t particularly eye-catching. The American guy was unremarkable and the British woman even seemed a bit sloppy, overweight, and not particularly attractive, like she’d been hitting the bottle (and something else) quite hard, definitely already looking to be a bit legless and in full out-on-the-piss mode. She gave me a bit of a cheeky stare and said hello as I sauntered by with my one-hour girlfriend. Not sure why she greeted us. Maybe she was attracted to the tart I was with. Thus, not exactly the kind of tourist pair you’d imagine catching the interest of an older Thai woman, particularly one who looked like she could still have her pick of some better punters. It got me wondering where they actually met her. Khao San Road? Was she working at one of the beer bars along Soi Nana? Or did they find her in a more regular spot, perhaps even a traditional bar or a random setting like a restaurant, and then convinced her to join them? She also didn’t strike me as the type who spends her nights trolling for customers in the usual spots, but she did look like a Thai woman who does like to have a bit of a drink. Maybe the couple had managed to strike up a connection elsewhere, which would be a feat in itself for that sloppy couple. I was even thinking maybe they met at a bar or club in Soi 11, but then the couple were both dressed in shorts and not appropriately fitted in the right attire to be partying in Soi 11. All in all, I got the feeling that they weren't all hanging out in Soi Nana together to begin with. Seemingly they met elsewhere and then came over to Nana for the use of the hotel, but who can be sure and why come all the way to Nana just for a ST room? For a couple to successfully rope in a decent Thai sex worker for a threesome, it also usually requires more than just waving a bit of cash around. There has to be some sort of mutual comfort, chemistry or interest, and somehow this trio seemed to have found it. It was especially impressive given the age gap and the fact that the Thai woman was probably not inherently physically attracted to either of the two. Let’s be honest, most people don’t expect a seasoned Thai woman to be particularly keen on giving a fat foreign woman a bit of a scissoring, but clearly, she didn’t seem to mind what lied ahead for her. The scenario left me curious about the whole construct. Was it purely transactional, or was there an element of genuine enjoyment for the Thai woman involved in this grouping. And how did the couple manage to set it all up. Was it all a chance meeting or was this something they sought out deliberately. Whatever the case, it was another unusual yet intriguing encounter to observe. If nothing else, it’s a reminder that Nana is always full of surprises, and the back stories behind the scenes are often more complex than they might appear to be, at first sight. I'm gonna lay down my bets now and say that she was working in a massage shop in the area and that they pulled her from there. Further food for thought whilst I sit back and puff on my nice, fat, steamy, spliff before hitting the sack.
