The Police Forensic Science Office has announced today that the number of victims of the Thai cyanide serial killer has risen to 14, with 13 fatalities. Of the 13 murdered victims, one person managed to survive after being poisoned by Sararat “Am” Rangsiwuthaporn. Police officers added they discovered cyanide substances in Am’s car.

Yesterday, the Police Forensic Science Office discovered cyanide substances inside the car the serial killer used. Forensic tests were conducted on over 20 samples, and the car was found to have traces of cyanide.

However, the car was not registered under Am’s name, and further investigation is required to determine how Am obtained the vehicle and who the rightful owner is.

Deputy Commissioner of the RTP, Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn, stated that Am claimed to have psychiatric symptoms, and officers are checking her mental health history at the Galya Rahabagarindra Institute to determine her symptoms. The court and the Department of Corrections will consider this information later.

Big Joke updated the public on the latest findings regarding the victims in the case, confirming that only one person, a 36-year-old Thai woman named Kantima “Pla” Paesa-ard, managed to survive cyanide poisoning. Another person suspected of being a victim in the Isaan province of Khon Kaen was dismissed.

The victims who were killed have been identified as:

A Thai female police officer, police captain Kanda “Nui” Torai. She passed away in front of the Global House construction material and decorative product store in the central province of Nakhon Pathom on August 10 of 2022

A Thai woman named Kanika “Ae” Tuladate. She died at a petrol station in the central province of Ratchaburi on September 12 of 2022

Am’s ex-husband named Suttisak “Dae” Poonkwan. He passed away at his house in the Isaan province of Udon Thani on March 12 of this year

A Thai female police officer, police major general Nipha “Pu” Saenchan. She died at a Buddhist stupa Phra Pathon Chedi in the central province of Nakhon Pathom on April 1 of this year

A female vendor, Rotjrin Ninhoi, died on August 19 last year at Maha Chai Market in the central province of Samut Sakhon. She handed over 100,000 baht for Am to keep in a kitty purse on August 4.

A 39 year old teacher, Phasudee “Odd” Samboonmee, died on November 20 of last year at her house in the central province of Nakhon Pathom. She handed over 100,000 baht to Am’s kitty on August 4

A woman named Chantarat Wongkraisin passed away on August 15 at her house in the southern province of Phetchaburi. She gave 70,000 baht to Am and invested another 20,000 baht in an online shop on TikTok with the alleged serial killer.

A Thai man named Darinee “Fah” Thepwee. He died at his house in the central province of Nakhon Pathom on December 13 of 2020

A Thai man named Surat “Bee” Thongplub. He passed away at his house in the central province of Kanchanaburi on January 13 of 2021

A Thai woman named Siriporn “Koy” Khanwong. She died at the pier in the central province of Ratchaburi on April 14 of this year

A Thai woman named Nittaya Kaewbuppha. She passed away at her house in the Prong Maduer district in the central province of Nakhon Pathom on August 22 of 2020

A Thai woman named Sawitree Butsrirak. She died away in the Isaan province of Mukdaharn on November 25 of 2020

A Thai teacher named Maneerat “Tai” Potjanarot. She passed away at the market in the central province of Nakhon Pathom on September 10 of this year

Officers are gathering information and evidence regarding the death of Monthathip, also known as Sai, a Thai woman whose mother filed a police complaint suspecting that her daughter may have been murdered by Am.

Sai’s mother claimed that her daughter passed away on July 7, 2015, shortly after arriving in Thailand from overseas. Am was the last person known to have seen her, having picked her up from the airport. After Sai’s death, all of her assets went missing.

The police are questioning Am’s ex-husband, who is a police officer, and Am’s sister, who is a pharmacist. Many netizens have speculated that Am’s ex-husband might be involved in the murders because he is the only living person connected to the case.

Big Joke believes that there could be even more victims involved in the case. To assist those who have been affected by this tragedy, the RTP has opened a special complaint centre for victims and their relatives to file complaints regarding the case.

Am’s lawyer, Thannicha Ek-suwannawat, spoke to the media and revealed that she is confident her client is innocent. Thannicha sees Am as a sister and has had several victories in several previous cases. She believed that Am could get away from this case and believed that Am did not murder anyone. Thannicha stated…

“I will not withdraw from Am’s case. I do not have a reason to step out of the case. There is nothing to worry about. It is the duty of the police to search for evidence. We will see if they obtained the evidence by right or not. The cyanide found in the car, then what? The car does not belong to Am, right?”

The prime suspect in the cyanide serial killings, 36 year old Sararat “Am” Rangsiwuthaporn, is accused of premeditated murder and property theft by administering cyanide poison. The case has gained significant attention since it has been suspected to be linked to over ten fatalities so far.

Dr Weerachai Phutdhawong, more commonly known as Dr Aod, a full-time lecturer in the Chemistry department of the Faculty of Arts and Science at Kasetsart University, assumes the role of examining the evidence, i.e., chemicals to identify the presence of cyanide in the materials involved in the case.

In his most recent Facebook post-Weerachai Phutdhawong, he mentioned that “Am has a profound knowledge of chemistry. One of her last shipments of chemicals tested positive for Sodium thiosulfate,” reported Sanook.

Furthermore, the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, concluded that sodium thiosulfate possesses pharmacological properties. Sodium thiosulfate offers its sulfur group to cyanide, which is extracted from cytochromes to transform cyanide into thiocyanate.

I think what this is trying to say is that sodium thiosulphate is used in the treatment of cyanide poisoning

A bit too close for comfort, that's only 5 minutes from me.

in this neck of the woods it's rare that an autopsy is carried out. They only seem to be performed when a foreigner passes away. I've lost count of teh number of funerals I've attended over the past 9 years, and not a single autopsy had been carried out.

So are there a number of ex-husbands? Or are the police questioning a dead one.

One dead. The most recent one still living. Although they were divorced, the police have discovered they apparently reconciled and have been living together again.

It’s the money that has been given to her that also opens other avenues. Was she blackmailing them? Money or die !

Some of the families have said that she borrowed money from the deceased. But after the deaths, she would contact the families and say that in fact they owed her and demand payment from the families. She even turned up with her lawyer. On occasion accompanied by the husband.

There seems to be a lot of evidence so far. All these unfortunate people she knew or met over the years all dying of cyanide poisoning ? Surly not a coincidence ! And with all there is money concerned.
I doubt you have to be a genius to produce cyanide if you have the interest and maybe scientific literature from the sister helping you. I am not saying the sister is guilty of partaking in these deaths !!!

This case seems to be just starting so don’t expect answers soon .

she certainly seemed

to get around a lot ?   Wonder  what her job  was ?

Isn't the Sister still alive , the one who is a pharmacist , isn't she a living person connected to the case ?

The report states the Police are questioning her Sister , but later in the report it states an ex husband is the only living person connected to the case.

1 3 unusual deaths / murders by poisoning and not a single one was picked up under autopsy? Something lacking in the area of pathology / forensics??

Do you think it could be possible that their deaths were mistakenly diagnosed or assumed it was Covid ?
