Three former MPs of the Bhumjaithai party were sentenced to nine months in prison without suspension today (Thursday), after they were found guilty of allowing their colleagues to insert their ID cards on January 10th and 11th, 2020 during a parliamentary debate on the budget bill.

The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders also dismissed them from political office and stripped them of their rights to contest elections and to vote in elections for life.

The three former MPs are Chalong Toedweerapong and Poomsit Kongmee, who represented Phatthalung province, and Natee Ratchakitprakarn, a former party-list MP.

So they had there friends log them in when they really were not there. Wonder how much money each member gets for daily attendance.

Well there you go. Lucky for MFP that they didn't form a coalition with them. BJT are on the same road as the Democrats are on and continue down. Decimation. LOL.

I think they get 115,000 per month and attendance is not mandatory. Prayuth's brother is famous for attending 2(?) sessions during one calendar year and collecting 12 paychecks.

That's a scandal!  115K a month & some days they can't even muster a quorum to discuss important business.

Allowing his brother to commit this slap-in-the-face shows Prayuth's view of politics. What do the Senate Generals get?

One wonders why the colleagues who inserted the cards of their absent friends to cover for their failure to attend appear to have escaped any punishment at all.

Probably no proof.

It's a lot easier to prove their cards were used and they didn't enter the building.

They get the same (115k). I think lower and upper house members have pretty much the same salary scales.

nothing they didn't learn in school here.

Actually that is exactly true. years ago I worked at a Thai university. During the extended breaks foreign and thai teaches alike would travel and go on holiday. The office support staff would sign us each in daily until we returned.

Sounds like the Proud to be Thai (or Thai Pride Party) Party has little to be proud of.

is the EC disqualifying them along with their leader Anutin, funny how the EC turns a blind eye when it involves members of the government

What a deep corrupt swamp all politics tend to be eventually.  Mo matter how we see this Government, they look in the mirror and see Knights in Shiny armor.
