As long as Ukrainians only use them in their airspace and not for 'trips' to Russia...

I don't know... but I gotta ask. Why?

I think it might be hard to resist shooting down a plane in Russian airspace that's just about to let go a cruise missile headed to Kiev. Still, there's always the prospect of an F16 coming out of the sun over a warship at Sevastopol navy base armed with a laser guided bomb.

Because this may escalate it to a WW3? Nuclear bombs, boom... No more AseanNow, etc.

Recent events like Biden at NATO and the G7 summit, etc, plus the F16s issue has signalled that the west wants this war to end decisively and soon. The chances that they haven't considered all the alternatives and consequences is zero. Putin also appears to be losing his grip. It will be over soon.

More Daily Mail garbage. Here your suggesting that Russia is about to unilaterally engage in an attack on a NATO country which will trigger an article 5 response. Not going to happen.

Nato countries are already involved with sending planes etc, so fighting a proxy war.

That's no secret. It's different to an attack directly on a NATO country by Russia. By your logic it should be open season on Iraq and Turkey by the west.

Maybe you r younger than the general demographic on AN... Most of us lived thru the cold war and we are more than a wee bit jaded by the decades of unfulfilled threats. Got anything else?

This is often quoted. But this is not Brezhnev and the Soviet Union, but Putin and Russia. Plus, in such a 'worst-case scenario', Putin would have Xi Jinping as a backup war ally, with his large army and nuclear arsenal (to which the Soviet Union wouldn't have had access to). Not to mention that Brezhnev and his predecessors/successors were part of the Politburo, while Putin has no-one to stop him, should he turn berserk or suicidal.

Must be the Monday blues...

No just decades of hearing the same scare-mongering. Khrushchev, Putin, Un, etc... All cut from the same cloth. Nothing new, nothing changed. Panic, worry, or go on with life. We figured that out possibly before you were born.

I do have a plan, as long as air-traffic is still on... ????

Still love the movie "Red Dawn" (the original one, not the remake).
