Yep.

Even stranger when you consider said presidential predecessor's lengthy record of demeaning and disparaging military men and women.

What did Joe say in his speech ?after all, that it what this thread is about

Joe said he honored those who fell for their country.

OK, so Joe Biden went to the National cemetery for fallen soldiers on memorial day and he said that he honours those that fell .

So, nothing more to say about the subject

Can imagine the Orange One writing his address for Twitter and muttering "bunch of losers" under his breath as he pressed Send.

Tell that to Neeranam who incited the riot with the usual sleepy Biden comment. It then became open season on those who would criticise Biden, Trump in particular.

Threads about USA politics always ends up with the same few people bickering about who is worse, Trump or Biden

For some of us, it's a question of who's better for the country.

A random. Door Dash driver would  be better than Trump. Trump is one of the worse human beings the USA ever created.

One does expect a short statement from dignitaries at such events. It's the norm, not the exception.

It's tradition.

I call B.S.

Trump is Biden's likely opponent.

So they will be compared.

That's how it works.

One normal.

One insane.

What kind of country would choose insane?

I hope you're joking.

Biden was past it in 2020, and most certainly shouldn't be allowed to run again, it's obvious, unless you only watch US news that he's past it.

Gents, can we at least call a short truce on ONE discussion thread? Particularly one which should be free of partisan squabbling.  I think many of us are either veterans, have family members who are serving or veterans, and possibly have family members who gave their last full measure (to paraphrase Lincoln).

Just once.

45 could at least string a few sentences together without loosing track, stumbling and forgetting what he was talking about.

Most of them were lies anyway so another one makes no difference. Trump would just spout another.

he also responded to Memorial Day appropriately not making it about him but about them the ones who made the sacrifice

All Presidents respond to that day.

Why should it be about him?

Who made it political? Trump or Biden? Shall we ignore comments made by Biden's main rival on this day that we all wish was sacred. It's just really regrettable that Trump has to make everything political.

This is a story about fallen soldiers, you really should be more respectful to them, rather than using their plight to attack other people

Maybe we should take our cues from the 2024 GOP front runner for POTUS?

No one has shown more respect for military men and women than he.
