Exactly the lowest of the low. But do you pay tax required ? Are you a crim receiving cash sterling from criminal activities?

Charles doesnt create anything. Achieves nothing. Neither do politicans. The lowest of the low. You support these people. Very sad.

People who build cars, computers, new tech etc create the world. The complete opposite of the people you support.

Actually I do not. I would think just as an outsider that the UK Monarchy should be abolished.

Far too late and long these foppish posh scroungers should be given the 86. I mean really

Nonsense. Your funds are property of the Crown. Now His Majesty Charles III. And in accordance to the Proceeds of  a crime act (2002) are subject to forfeiture.

My funds are not subject to forfeiture (at least not yet) as they are legally earned and any taxes due, already taken.

I can go and spend cash pretty much where and when I please without anyone looking over my shoulder. Although for a long while there have been limits on how much. And no, I am not talking about criminally.

That won't be the case with your cashless society, which is all about control.

To be clear, I am not against having digital banking alongside cash. Just a total cashless society controlled by governments.

Surely the Swedes can do the same as the rest of us did 30 or 40 years ago - go to a currency exchange at home before you leave and take your foreign currency with you on holiday.

They don't have to...that's what the thread is about, Scandinavian banks not buying back their currency.

Do you misunderstand or misinterpret all the posts you read on here or just some of them?  Your replies on many topics appear to miss the point of what's actually happening or being discussed.

Using the full quote, which you truncated in your reply, it would appear you've misunderstood or misinterpreted again.  I thought that might be the case.

thanks. I believe Canadian authorities are now chasing laundered monies, (mostly Chinese mainland) flowing through casinos and otehr illegal sources (as Canuck banks will not touch money coming in from a questionable source). of course, they are about 15 year behind, with that, just like Thailand.

I think BritScot may be referring to the Canadian Government freezing the bank accounts of participants in the truckers' protests last year?

ok, i remember that.  An all time low for the Can. govt.

And still NOBODY in Sweden can see where this is going.

Once a rich and prosperous country - in fact one of the richest country on earth! A country the whole world looked up to and envied. Now its only a shadow from its former glory.

Good luck, if you still don't have a plan B already!

Because staying in Sweden is really not an option!

hahaha not quite. this week they gave subsidies to farmers up to 30% to upgrade their electricity or something or other. they gave an extra 10% to women, first nation people, visible minorities, and get this ... lgbtq farmers. they call this favorable discrimination. this in a country that boasts equality for all. the only ones not getting the extra 10% are the male caucasian farmers who have been farming and feeding people for generations sweating and barely surviving. for me, that is an all time low. this is an example of trudeauist policies... great guy... help everyone except 4-5-6th generation canadians

I imagine this will affect quite a few pensioners from Sweden and Norway. Hopefully they find a solution. I can’t imagine not being tech savvy and having to deal with this.

Bumping this old thread just to make clear (unchanged):

it's close to impossible to change CASH from Denmark, Norway or Sweden in Thailand and maybe other countries!

A few change for miserable rates.

Commercial banks don't show rates and don't accept such cash.

It does not affect cashless money transfer by SWIFT, WISE etc.

So not really a problem for expats/pensioners?

More likely for tourists.

But presumably Scandinavian tourists can still use their home country debit cards to withdraw THB cash from ATM's here in LOS, can they not?

Quite sure as no physical Nordish cash involved.

Sweden is the Saudi Arabia of feminism. The fems in Sweden don't want swedish men to come and spend their money (on girls) in Thailand or anywhere else. The war on cash is a war on sex-for-money.
