Gov. Ron DeSantis is in Oklahoma delivering a political speech, but that doesn’t mean disturbing news isn’t happening closer to home.

 

Rep. Anna V. Eskamani tweeted on Saturday video of Nazi demonstrators outside of Disney World.

 

A second image, from Twitter user Shannon Watts, contends that “two dozen white supremacists are outside the main Disney World entrance in Orlando right now, marching with signs featuring Gov. DeSantis’s face, swastikas, the n-word and homophobic slurs.”

There are still remnants of the old GOP but it is now totally dominated by the Maga fascists. There is nothing to wonder about. The GOP has become a pro fascist party. Will it ever backtrack from that and how long will it take? Impossible to say. I don't think that party deserves to even survive. It should go the way of the Know Nothing Party.

When your a married gay/lesbian couple, as my friends are, and the homophobia and attacks upon you are becoming more and more unbearable, would  you stay.  It is not just a few idiots, Desantis has turned the schools into an unfriendly learning environment where parents are being pitted against each other.  California has always been open and welcoming to most folks, rarely do you see the type of attacks which are occurring.  You can thank San Francisco for assisting California get on the board and stay on the board as far as the far as the LGBTQ community.

The use of preferred pronouns will be banned in public schools. And children will be barred from attending drag shows, among other measures. One law that prohibits gender-affirming health care for transgender people under the age of 18 is already being enforced.

And, Poppe said, they are even touting the Sunshine State as a great place to relocate your hate.

"They actually created Florida propaganda posters saying the state of hate needs you and advertising to other extremists to move to Florida,” Poppe said. “They're trying to make Florida a place where this kind of thing is acceptable and to center their activities in the state."

 

With all that is happening in Florida, why not move and be safe.

He will try and roll back all of the laws allowing lives to be equal, we will end up back in the era before Dr. Martin Luther King if they have there way.  All of these new laws and rights were fought for by the people who want the US to have equality for all and the freedoms to go with that equality.  Yes there should be laws in place which prohibit certain things.  Racism, Bigotry and Anti LGBTQ rhetoric and laws have no place in the US let alone the world.

I think that's a bit much. I am no fan of De Santis but I can't see actions or treatments of blacks and others as that extreme or leading back to the pre Martin Luther King times.  The laws relating to LGBT stuff are a concern in terms of some books and teachers having to be careful about what they say but in my opinion you can disagree with his take on things without suggesting he is sending LGBT people back to some 1950's world where they have no rights at all.
