Immigration Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
On a foreigner's arrival in Thailand, the immigration official scans the passport and sees the TDAC information on his screen. The officials at the local immigration offices should be allowed to access to this database, instead of having to ask applicants for a extension of stay to bring a printed copy. -

US Pushes Forward with Private Aid Plan for Gaza Amid UN Opposition
Reuters) -The Israeli military acknowledged on Monday that Palestinian civilians were harmed at aid distribution centres in the Gaza Strip, saying that new instructions had been issued to Israeli forces following "lessons learned". Since Israel lifted an 11-week aid blockade on Gaza on May 19, allowing limited U.N. deliveries to resume, the United Nations says more than 400 Palestinians have been killed while seeking handouts of aid. "Following incidents in which harm to civilians who arrived at distribution facilities was reported, thorough examinations were conducted in the Southern Command and instructions were issued to forces in the field following lessons learned," the Israeli military said in a statement. Do Phuket condos actually go up in price over the years?
Can't speak about the wider market, but a friend who bought a condo in Phuket at the cheaper end of the market (around 3 million baht) tried to sell it and there was very little interest, even when he tried to sell it for 35% less than he paid for it! I imagine prime units in the best locations might increase in value but I bet plenty of places don't. Let's not forget that maintenance of buildings and general upkeep are not always a local strength! -

Opinion Rotten Greetings: The World's Most Unwelcoming Cities According to Seasoned Travellers
I have knocked around southern SA a bit, but I've never been to Bolivia. Travelers' stories nearly all mention how unwelcome they felt there. I recall a Dutch gal who had tears in her eyes recounting her experiences: "why do they treat me like that, I did nothing to them!" Ecuador is another one I've given a pass on, but I did want to see the Galapagos. I researched it about 15 years ago and unfortunately that country's crime had spread to the islands, or so it was being reported. Oh well. I like this topic because it counters the typical travel articles about the best, like "which countries have the best salt shakers" etc. -
