White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was pressed Wednesday for a response to the United Kingdom's decision to ban puberty blockers for minors despite President Biden's claim that American lawmakers pushing such bans were "hysterical" and "prejudiced."

Biden made the comments on June 8 during a joint press conference at the White House with U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the first person of color elected British prime minister, and declared his administration was "not relenting" when it came to making sure LGBTQ Americans were "protected."

I doubt he can remember who Rashid Sanook is. It was several days ago.

But of course, Biden knows everything about prejudice. He even tells black people what it means to be black.

He was obviously joking around. But go ahead being terminally literal.

The larger point is that trump leads a white nationalist movement.

WINNER! First poster to try and deflect the conversation by injecting their personal infatuation with the Bad Orange Man.

Biden is probably incapable of making the logical connection between saying that Americans who want to block puberty blockers are prejudiced, yet others who want to do so are not.  Interestingly, Europe is taking the lead in protecting children from greedy and unscrupulous exploitation by medical con artists.

False accusation.

I was responding to a post which introduced the disgraced former president.

Another pov about gender affirming medical care.

Your post does highlight a much wider problem in the effective choice which seems likely to face the US electorate in 2024.

A shot through, bumbling incoherent with, what can charitably be described as definite and rather fast increasing signs of age related cognitive impairment, an utterly amoral, self obsessed, narcissistic with at best no real connection or respect for truth or the basic tenets of his society, let's face it close behind in the geriatric states, and worrying connections with white supremacists and it seems a penchant for organised political violence; or as an outside choice, a good old fashioned authoritarian racist.

And we hear British politics described as a mess!

Biden will perform fine until he doesn't.

Then we get an unpopular but still perfectly fit, sane, pro democracy, and competent VP Harris.

Trump on the other hand is likely to pick a VP as anti democracy and batty as he is.

So they aren't equivalently bad.

He actually has but you're obviously just biased.

• President Joe Biden’s achievements in his first two years are roughly on par with other recent presidents, though they are less extensive than those of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Lyndon B. Johnson, experts say. Biden has signed several major bills and used executive orders to achieve key policy goals.

• The big difference for Biden is that he’s had to work with notably smaller margins in Congress than almost any other president in the past century.

• Despite Biden’s accomplishments, Democrats haven’t been touting them very much on the midterm campaign trail.

Joking about getting his name wrong? Or joking about him being prejudiced? Or joking about how he decides who is 'truly' black?

Because none of those are exactly side splitters on the comedy stakes...

This thread is not about Trump. You have plenty of others to choose from.

It was in the context of a previous Biden Trump presidential contest.

Biden was correct to suggest most blacks were better off voting for him.

That was the obvious subtext of the joke.

All these wonder acts involve spending trillions that the US has to borrow to pay for, during an era of the highest interest rates for decades. Brilliant!

Why do you think Biden's approval keeps dropping?

So if they disagree with him, "they ain't black"?

Staggering arrogance in trying to tell black people what defines black. Typical of the left though, they hate it when black people don't fit into the stereotype of what they think they should be.

Unfortunately we have his ilk in the UK as well. If they don't agree with you, they're not "really" black. Disgusting .

I'm not an American, but I do wonder, what part does the candidate for Vice President play in the voters decision - is he or she an afterthought or regarded as being "on the slate"?

As you say, the current incumbent seems competent if unpopular. In the case of Mr Trump we will I suppose have to see which harpy emerges from the probable 3 way catfight, Lake, Boebert or Taylor-Greene. Not a good prospect, but perhaps an entertaining process.

They actually do good unlike tax cuts for billionaires by the previous criminally corrupt insurrectionist grifter.

Recently blocked IRS funding that would get large returns by auditing more rich people.

Republicans magically discover deficits only when they're out of power.

Epic hypocrisy.

Good question.

Normally the VP pick has minimal effect on the results.

But this time VPs will be more important because of the old age factor assuming it will be Biden v Trump again.

Great answer, you should apply for WH Press Secretary. ????

He was, of course, wrong, as he is on so many things. Black Americans enjoyed the lowest unemployment in history under President Trump. As did Hispanic Americans.  Median incomes increased, poverty decreased, high earning African Americans grew also.  He also restored and guaranteed funding for Black universities and colleges.

Why should they vote for Joe Biden?

None of the above IMHO. Trump picked a very effective VP in 2016- Mike Pence. So far superior to the current holder of that office that it is almost funny.  I think, should Trump get the nomination, he would go for either Nikki Haley or Vivek Ramaswamy. Again, both obviously better than Harris.

He’s a great witness, I’ll give you that.
