In a deeply unsettling incident at a school in Mae Ai, Chiang Mai, an alarming confrontation unfolded between a senior high school student in the third year (M.3) and a junior student in the second year (M.2).

The senior student, overwhelmed by stress and agitation, confronted the younger student, who was peacefully dining with friends in the school cafeteria, and ruthlessly assaulted them with a fatal knife attack, reported Daily News.

On June 20th, the Mae Ai police station received a distressing report of a lethal confrontation that had taken place at a school in Mae Sao, Mae Ai district, Chiang Mai.

The incident took place in close proximity to the school cafeteria, where the lifeless body of a presumed 14-year-old student from M.2 was found. The victim had sustained multiple knife wounds to the head. Nearby, law enforcement apprehended a presumed 16-year-old M.3 student, who was found clutching a knife stained with blood. The student was promptly taken into custody for further questioning.

Preliminary inquiries unveiled a long-standing conflict between the two students, characterized by frequent altercations and intense physical clashes, totaling ten incidents since the semester began. The deceased student had consistently faced overpowering attacks, leading the M.3 student to subject them to ridicule and further physical assault.

The relentless harassment and humiliation inflicted upon the M.2 student caused immense frustration and stress, ultimately culminating in the tragic incident witnessed within the cafeteria.

Following initial interrogations, the authorities have formally charged the M.3 student with intentional murder and detained them while awaiting legal proceedings at the Mae Ai police station.

ASEAN NOW remarks that the original text mentioned the student being attacked with a knife, not an axe.

Last month there was a M2 student death in a Srisaket school. In both cases bullying was too blame. In both these cases the weapons were knives. Bullying at schools is a sadly common occurance. What i find sadder is the teacher negligence in not caring and turning a blind eye., particularly from the home room teachers of these victims. Both of these deaths were preventable.

Since the semester began, so was it the teachers who "unveiled' this information.

Anywhere. People simply don't like other humans. People hate someone sitting next to them on a bus or train, for example. And where do they learn bullying from? They are born with a desire to humiliate. Most grow out of it, fortunately.

What is it with these kids that they all carry around knives these days? It’s just completely nuts. When I was young, you fought with your fists. Nowadays, kids stab and kill each other seemingly without a second thought. And it’s not just Thailand, it’s all over Europe as well.
