Pita Should Be Given Just One Chance Of Being Voted For PM: Settha

PHEU THAI CANDIDATE FOR prime minister Settha Taweesin suggested today (July 7) Move Forward leader/prime minister-designate Pita Limjaroenrat be given just one chance of being voted head of government.

 

Settha, known as personally close to deposed prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, advised Pita be given just one chance of being voted prime minister during a joint House/Senate session scheduled for July 13 and that the Move Forward leader should not be given a second chance scheduled for July 19.

 

His comments apparently contrasted with those earlier made by House Speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Matha who insisted that Pita be given a second chance if he eventually fails to get enough support from the MPs and senators in the first round of joint voting.

 

Given a combined force of 312 MPs on his side, Pita will need at least 64 more votes from non-coalition MPs and senators to make a minimum of 376 votes of support as required by law.

The PT shows again how bad losers they are.. Normally the party with the most seats goes for the PM and PT as second wants to have the post.. It could mean that they can deliberately can hold votes against Pita to get the job themselves.... Unite as coalition would be much beter for their image

really shows what pt are really all about, themselves and their leader, they are in it for personal gain and are playing everyone else as fools. They have been saying how much they support move forward and then come out with this garbage showing it is all BS, last thing Thailand needs is pt calling the plays, may well be associated with thaksin returning and was their real play all along while lying to everyone as per usual.

Imo what MF must do is be steadfast. 14 million people voted for them, they mustn't walk away from the coalition if Pita fails to become PM. 

Let Chettha be the PM but MF must insist on the ministries already designated.  They must be seen to be working for the people, carrying out their policies they outlined. 

If PT make it impossible for them to remain, then let the public know. But don't let the public down by voluntarily quitting the coalition.

Settha is becoming impatient to be PM.

Just 2 days ago, the Deputy House Speaker from PT, Pichet, said Pita should have three chances to be PM, voting on the 13th, 18th and 20th.

And now Settha says only one. 

PT, a bunch of cobras.

Then, the rumour that won't die that speculates up to 80 PT MPs may actually vote for Pravit as PM.

Their only reason to do that rather than vote for Settha is to bring Thaksin home.

But at such a cost politically. PT seen to be the scum they really are ( with a few notable exceptions).

I think this highlights the  coalitions dillema . If it is known that Pita will have a second chance . Then what is the incentive for the Senators or opposition parties to vote for Pita in the first round.

 

They will simply not vote for Pita during the first vote. This will force Pita to negotiate and make concessions to gain the votes required for the second vote.

Which is just wrong...the world is full with PM from second and third parties...Austria had a coalition of the second and third party with the third having the PM and no one thought that is undemocratic. Also a lot presidents say they would never make a specific party member prime minister even if they are strongest. Usually from right wing parties. It is all a question of negotiations. And obviously the strongest party has the most negotiating power. And usually gets PM...but not always. And of course every other party also want to have the PM.

EVERY politician is there for personal gain...you wouldn't believe that they do it for making some poor peoples life better?? No one could be that naive

I hope that K Pita can be elected as PM in the first seating. The government need to be form as soon as possible and approve next year budget. Any delay will be bad for the economy and delay FDI decisions.
 

The dark horse will be whether PPRP will be the spoiler and throw in their nomination for Prawit. This will most certainly upset the apple cart and influence the senator votes. House speaker is sensible to allocate 3 seatings for the PM voting process. The longer it stretched, the quorum may be compromise making harder to achieve the target votes. The economy will take a big hit if the opposition coalition decide to derail and drag out the process.
 

Will depend on the margin of votes on whether K Piya be given a second chance. If the chasm is too wide, the coalition must nominate a more palatable candidate like K Sreetha. Time is tight to form the government and coalition must accept some compromise to keep the junta out of office.

Thailand is not a western country and we all know what happened when PT was governing. Pita deserves as it is the culture of Thailand that the biggest party has the PM post..

Settha Taweesin is a dunce, a fool and a nitwit. He also has very little respect for his nation, nor his people, and could be labeled a traitor. He is one of those clowns who does not think the will of the should be acknowledged or respected. 

 

One can only hope fools like him meet their fates rather dramatically.

1). settha wants the job so that he can create influences for massive real estate sales for his company and his industrty, therefore aim to limit Khun Pita's opportunties.

 

2. wondering how much pressure/influence is happening behind the scenes from thaksin? (The man who years ago and many times since declared he is no longer involved in Thai politics but as evealed his hand numerous times. Further does anybody believe his statements he will return to Thailand late July? If there's truth in such claims then who is he influencing (paying) to allow him to step foot in Thailand a free man. Clearly he still has big power.

He is on track to become PM that does not look like a fool.

Of course, which rich politician care about nation or people? None....he not more or not less than any of the others.

It is naive to believe there is one hero that care...
