Outgoing Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha wishes the country to remain peaceful while those concerned are forming the new government.

Everything is going to be better, the country’s economy is recovering and more tourists are coming to Thailand, deputy government spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek quoted Prayut as saying.

Prayut said he will do his duty and take care of the country while the new government is being set up.

Nobody cares what he hopes as the usurper of democracy his opinion is worthless much like his tenure in power.

And his and his cronies legacy will effect the country until the anti democratic senate can be dismantled because we have seen recently they are still clinging onto their illegitimacy.

He seems to look more like Hun Sen each day! Hoping for a peaceful transition??? I doubt that, unless he means his buddy, Prawit being ascended to the chair!

No he doesn't. Unrest and disruption invites him and his tanks back in again.

The well ingrained indoctrination of the present adult population will stop them from rising, they are too lethargic to even scratch their own backside.

Only the youth of this country will eventually do anything and make changes.

That will take another generation.

As for Pita, he should have been more stealthy in his approach.

Made sure he was squeaky clean as far as shares in media etc..

And as for running, he should have laid-off the Lesse Majeste stuff, deleting the senate, opening up the brewing bushiness and all the other promises and to curb all corruption.

Just run on the promise of bettering the country, get into parliament, become PM then do what he liked after the senate was kicked out of office.

Showing his hand up front was his downfall, the public might have voted him in, but they don't have the vote to make him PM

as we now see.

That's all fine if what you want is never-ending cynicism & manipulation. In which case why not just vote for the Democrats or PTP?

But Pita & MFP have already changed Thai expectations of what is possible. Yes, they may fail at the end of this particular race. But not perhaps the next one. Thailand now has possibilities of change & reform that it didn't have only 2 months ago. All achieved by Pita & MFP. And yes there could be another military coup but my guess is that it'll be much more bloody than the last multiple times and the Thai people won't give up as long as they have a Pita as hero or martyr.

Take aside everything we know about this man and it's actually a very good picture of him. He's well dressed, looks smart and respectful. Talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing.

What a joke he wishes the country to remain peaceful while his 250 hand selected henchman decide who they want at the head of the trough, lm assuming as he states those concern are forming the new Government he doesn't mean the millions and millions of Thais who voted for a change and offered a glimmer of hope that a change was coming for the better, someone who appear to have the interest of the people and its country at the forefront rather than lining there pockets with greed and corruption

I wanted Pita in power, but the rigged system with the chosen senate was always going to beat him when it came to electing the PM.

He never stood a chance from the outset.

People can vote for who they want in parliament but until the rigged system is changed it won't ever happen.

Pheu Thai are now conversing with Anutin and others to take power.... turn-coats all of them

They will rig it so they get to remain in power.
