Car Wrapping in Chiang Mai?

Featured Replies

Have you had your car wrapped here?

Can you recommend a place close to the Superhighway, preferably with some English-speaking staff?

Any idea of the approximate cost of wrapping a small Toyota 4-door?

Thanks

What is car wrapped? Never heard of it. Wrapped in plastic? Wrapped up and tossed out? Rip wrap? My apologies, but this one went over my head.

Car wrapping is a way to customize your car using a vinyl film instead of painting... vehicles that you see with advertising on them are a type of vinyl wrapped... I had a small sports car that I wrapped in a copper colored vinyl

Thank you for clarifying

Thanks for that. Do you have any experience with these shops? Any idea of the approximate cost to wrap a small Toyota?

Thanks again.

No idea here but in Oz not a lot cheaper than good respray job!

You may want to check with the car registration office beforehand. Does the wrap color affect what color the car is registered in - or does it remain the underlying color on its original paperwork? When the color is changed by painting, the paint shop needs to provide documentation which must be subsequently filed. One might assume wrapping would be similar but maybe not worth the confusion/hassle.  Just sayin...

That's a very good suggestion! Thanks for mentioning it.

One of those things when one has more money than sense. ????

Perhaps you could give us some reasons for your comment?
That might be interesting and maybe even useful for others considering getting it done.

That is why some prefer wrapping. No need to have the bluebook or greenbook (bike) updated at the DLT.

Non issue, if car needs respray or wrap, dumb comment!

If the OP plans on advertising wrap then I presume he’ll becoming out of retirement and be getting a work permit

I had an expensive new car wrapped in clear self-healing paint protection film in Chiang Rai. Also available in matt, matt PPF is a far better option than factory matt paint which is practically unrepairable.

It’s worth doing on an expensive new car if you plan to keep it a long time. After 2 years the car was still in showroom condition despite the usual motorbikes  scraping past. An hour in the sun and the film repaired itself, none of the usual halos.

I don’t think I would do it for a colour change, and I think you should redo it every few years or the glue hardens and it is difficult to remove potentially damaging the car.

I paid 70,000 for the entire car and it involved quite a few warranty visits to my home to replace a few pieces.

Hello,

Interested in the topic as I hesitate to protect the car with some wrapping.

Any real experiences lately? I've just asked a quote to Jicko carwrap. Seen wrap pro too but never like when businesses need to call themselves pro 😁 (just like "the best pizza in the world" for pizzerias)

So any experience updates would be very appreciated. Cheers
