You have to add VP Mike Pence, who did not cave, faced threats, yet still did his job. I'm not otherwise a fan of his, but he stood tall when it counted. Add Brad Raffensperger of Georgia and the Speaker of AZ House.

And all the Capitol police who stood firm against the terrorists on 6 January. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for putting country over political ambitions.

Should we also add the cabinet members who threatened mass resign vs Jeffrey Clark? And last but not least Cathy Hutchinson, whose life is not going to be the same after the Jan6 hearing. And whole host others who away from the spotlight did something behind the scene to impede the "stampede..." - that we might never find out, that why I called them "unsung heroes."

Smith lets indictments speak for him
Updated August 3, 2023 at 4:43 p.m. EDT

Legal experts said that much of the election conspiracy case is likely to center on a question of intent — essentially, whether Trump believed his false claims while pushing to have the election results overturned.

And that, they said, could pose a challenge for Smith and his team.

“It’s certainly not an easy case, it’s not a slam-dunk case,” (Lauren Ouziel, a former federal prosecutor in Manhattan and Philadelphia who is now a law professor at Temple University)
said, “because it really comes down to mental state, to intent.”

I have to disagree on this.

Fine. How many federal cases have you prosecuted?

Ms. Ouziel said this is not a slam-dunk case. You sure wouldn't get that notion from reading the posts on here.
