Bangkok is the world’s most visited city this year

Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is the most visited city in the world so far this year, with around 22 million international arrivals, according to a survey by the Travelness travel blog. More detailed data reveal tourist patterns, such as an average stay of 4.7 nights and an average spend of US$173 per day.

Bangkok is more affordable than other cities in the top 20 and is well-known for its colourful street life, food and cultural wonders, such as the Grand Palace and Wat Arun.

 

The city has something for everyone, from high end shopping malls to low-cost street markets. Its bustling nightlife and street food are famous around the world and the city serves as a gateway to other parts of Thailand, such as the beaches of Phuket, Koh Samui and Pattaya.

Bangkok Post this morning is saying 15 million arrivals so far this year. Here it says 22 million arrivals so far this year. Why such a massive difference?

Might find out today, going to a TAT do at Sirikit Centre, only for the concert of course, Anne Oradee and Boy Sivachai, that will be costing them a bit, so looks like a Thai tourist promotion

ok so 15 million divide by jello subtract 22 million and you have this place in a nut shell.

So, half way through day 4 they had had enough of the city and run off ! Bangkok is about as attractive to me as London. 1 day is too long.
