Your joking aren't you ,here in Australia they wouldn't dare , especially if he was of the indigenous culture!! That's why crime is out of hand in Qld ,they ran and locked themselves in the police station if you recall a few months ago in Townsville

The threat and capability of carrying it out is assault. It's a common misunderstanding of the law. Just so I don't have to get into it beyond this with anyone... here's the definition from Black's Law Dictionary. "An unlawful attempt or offer. on the part of one man, with force or violence, to inflict a bodily hurt upon another. An attempt or offer to beat another, without touching him; as if one lifts up his cane or his fist in a threatening manner at another ; or strikes at him, but misses him. 3 Bl. Comm. 120; 3 Steph. Comm. 469. Aggravated assault is one committed with the intention of committing some additional crime; or one attended with circumstances of peculiar outrage or atrocity. Simple assault is one committed with no intention to do any other injury. An assault is an unlawful attempt, coupled with a present ability, to commit a violent injury on the person of another." thelawdictionary.org/assault/ 1 1
Popular Post J Branche Posted August 12, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 12, 2023 The post about assaulting the angry tourist denied boarding shows a lack of knowledge of Thai Style and Thai Culture. The man clearly required help. Thinking assaulting someone at an elevated agitated and emotional state is a last result. Your contribution is not welcome or helpful on this topic. This is eastern culture. Causing the Asian person to lose face or assaulting him at a large airport with international people sends the wrong message to the world. Thank You RTP, you achieved a positive outcome in Thai Style. 1 3

Xonax Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 The chinese tourist should have been arrested and banned from entering Thailand ever again. 1 1

That's nonsense. They would have done what any sensible police would have done - taken the skateboard off him (which would have been easy) and handcuffed him, afterwhich they could have had their "conversation" in a private room. 3 2
Mikelthai Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 Iam living for 23 years in Thailand but i never have seen like this and its probably because this happened on the airport. Normally this Chinese man should have been arrested interrogated and then blacklisted for at least 1 year. Because this is not acceptable to act like he did This is only my private opinion 1

Should have been charged with attempted assault at the minimum.! Totally agree, particularly after being kicked off a flight. Should have been arrested. 1
Taboo2 Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 Thai cops are the best at showing restraint. Americans know what would happen to that guy, especially if it was the LAPD or the LASD. He would dead. 1

Mr Meeseeks Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 From the video, it doesn't look like restraint to me, looks like poor training and confusion. Is this guy free to come back? Should be facing a 3-5 year ban at minimum. 1 1

We will not have to worry about him returning any time soon. Why? He didn't break any Chinese laws. Nothing expected from the Chinese authorities, unless Thailand contacts them, but highly unlikely. If Thailand wanted to prosecute, he'd been in jail now. Any action by China would be embarassing....for China. 1
Myran Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 The police showed way too much restraint. People like these need to be put in their place, especially when they're attacking police officers. Their colleague could've been seriously injured. 1

Those cops need to go back to training. 2

They get my respect, but hopefully he is now escorted out and can not return. How many mental ill people have police hurt and killed in some countries, who could not obey orders?

I lived in China for a decade, speak more of a southern dialect of Mandaran. This fellow is from Shaanxi, where the local version of Mandarin is, how you say, unique. I watched the video yesterday. The audio was rather poor, and I couldn't make out much of what the man said. I was guessing it was some version of Cantonese. 1 1
