Always a pleasure to watch Parkinson, even when I had no interest whatsoever in the interviewee.

I particularly enjoyed his lengthy and insightful conversation with George Michael - I'd always enjoyed his music and videos but gained a new respect for the guy after that.

I always remember the hysterics with Parky and Billy Connolly, and him being attacked by Rod Hull and Emu !

He certainly interviewed all the "greats" in his time.

RIP

Just one of many interviews with Billy Conolly

My favorites among many:-

Richard Burton

David Niven

Alec Guinness

And for all the wrong reasons, Meg Ryan and Emu.

Requiescat in Pace.

A great interviewer, his 3-celebrity format was always entertaining. Billy Connolly and Barry Humphries were memorable. RIP.

Great programmes in the days when the BBC was worth watching.  My favourite was Peter Ustinov whom he interviewed many times.

I can't say I was a big fan, I'm not really into talk shows, but without doubt Parkie topped the bunch of interviewers by a long way. RIP old chap. 88 years old, not a bad innings.
