A quick prediction poll for fun.

I just thought about how wonderful it would be to have now silence about that name for the next couple of years. And then, maybe after 7 years, an article in the newspaper that the criminal died in his prison cell of old age 3 months before he was to be released.

I know, my daydreaming is not very realistic, but I liked it.

Coming back to above question, I guess he has a deal, otherwise he wouldn't have returned. I hope part of that deal is that he keeps a low profile. Like: You can live with your family but stay out of politics and out of the media. Let's see. Only time will tell.

Of course he shall only be a family granddad ????, and spent his attention on his grandchildren specially ......to educate them after school hours ......, .....how to become for them in future Pm's ......????

As the Shin dynasty must go on  ????

Wife and I just discussed this...

I reckon he'll be out within a month.

I suspect, the PT party will find some flaw in legal proceedings that exonerates the sisters for their part in crimes of corruption.

Its extremely clear, so long as those 'currently' at the trough remain at the trough then all will be happy...

It would appear seem that a PM under coalition power has Thaksin pulling the strings, all we're waiting for is how quickly those strings are pulled.

The Thai population is slowly having the wool pulled over its eyes... like a boiling frog, too slow to notice until it's too late.

I'll eat my words, if required....but Thaksin is never going free.

Nor is he fated to live long 'unfree'. He is now under 'administrative care'. A euphemism for being under complete control until such time as is right to end that care, by ending his life, for reasons deemed beneficial to the interests of the state.

There is hope. ????

Have to agree. Can't see him coming back if he didn't know that he would be out pretty quick.

I suspect something that can't be discussed.

If You had said "I'll eat my hat" I might be looking to post one to you.

Can't imagine him coming back if he knew he wouldn't be released soon.

However, I live in hope that I'm wrong. I hope he lives a long life in jail to regret what he did..

I hope you're hungry! He'll be out soon!

My guess - and it is only a guess, of course - is that he won't be given a pardon the first time round, in order for the state to appear to not be granting him special favour, meaning he gets, according to the law, another chance of a pardon two years later. A lot can happen in two years. It's been worked out....imo.

Well, 2baht, I'll bet a lot more than 2 baht he won't be. ????

He'll make it to brunch and the RBSC this coming Sunday.

It's possible they could be declared persona non grata by the crown = end of a continuous problem.....

House arrest or pardoned because of health!
