I rcvd an email from an old friend from USA who I had not seen in a long time. He mentioned that he was coming back from Ukraine??

 

Is that possible? Are visa given out? Or border crossings possible?

Yes.  Former Thailand YouTube blogger JohnnyFD has been in and out Ukraine for the last year.  It looks like one has to fly to Poland and then take a train to Lyiv or even Kyiv.

Even state visitors go by train from Poland.

Air-force One didn't make it to Kyiv.

Western Ukraine is mostly unaffected by warfare except for some arbitrary long range attacks to terrify the population.

Why would they not allow foreign visitors to come? If it's advisable to go there is another matter, of course.

I actually just don't fancy Ukraine at the moment.

 

Maybe I'll do North Korea or Afghanistan this next year.
