Mini bus from Pattaya to Siem Reap

Featured Replies

I thinking of going to Siem Reap from Pattaya. I am not to keen on driving to the Don Muang to catch a flight. Has anyone taken the deluxe mini bus from Pattaya to Siem Reap? If so what is the trip like?

TIA

i did it from Bangkok, was good, met a nice Singaporean girl on the bus and we travelled in Cambodia together. Pattaya will be nearer so better

The minivan started from the intersection of South Pattaya Road and Sukhumvit (northbound, next to the gas station and the pedestrian bridge) when I made the trip to Siem Reap through Aranyaprathet one year ago. They have a small office there, everyone will help you when you ask for Aran. The ride was close to six hours as the minivan went through several small towns, but it took you for 300+ Baht directly to the border checkpoint. - The trip was okay, but it was not a VIP bus, just the normal one. - Once you crossed the border, you can take the evening bus to Siem Reap (and take a one dollar win to bring you to a restaurant or cafe to spend the waiting time close to the bus departure point). It is a sleeping bus which I booked online and not too comfortable for my farang size, but good for the distance to Siem Reap. (When arriving there, I had to rush to the driver and remind him to stop and let me out, as he was already through the city center and seemed to forget me ...)

Take a mini bus from Pattaya to the border and after the Cambodia immigration, share a taxi to SR.

There is a  mini bus station near the  Pattaya Tai and Sukhumvit junction, next to Esso. https://goo.gl/maps/cYmGY11FCJBaiMTn9

4 years ago the mini bus stopped here, about 1km from the border where I shared a tuktuk to goto the border: https://goo.gl/maps/KRxaiMe2jLnQvNuL9

They may have moved the station closer to the border, I don't know.

To share a taxi, after immigration exit walk strait ahead to a traffic circle and you will see taxis waiting there. Shared taxi will take you to your hotel at no additional charge.

You can also hop on a free shuttle bus right after the immigration exit and be taken to a bus station, from where you can wait an hour for a bus or share a mini bus to goto SR bus station, where you need to get a tuktuk to go to your hotel.
