Your not serious are you? You do realize those that you name above were the lap dogs of the USA for many years....Heck you can add Bin Laden to that list too It was when they stopped obeying orders that they were suddenly deemed terrorist Where do you think Osama got his weaponry? It was given to him to kill Russians in Afghanistan when he was done he told the US now you get out too. So he returned the weaponry one bullet at a time Gadaffi ? He decided he would no longer sell his sweet crude to the US & France so they took it under the guise of helping the Libyan rebels who also set up a Central Bank while doing so Saddam? Big lap dog that helped US puppet regime ...He decided he would no longer price his oil in USD he also suddenly became a terrorist So maybe your confused as to who is the likely tyrant ???? 2 1 1

itsallmine68 Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 WHY? Because they dont want another Iraq. They should have let Saddam alone. Plus they dont want into a war where they lose young Americans again like Vietnam or Iraq

Ukrainians can win with their own troops but they do need enough military aid to actually win and they do need the west to understand not to have unreasonable expectations as far as the timeline. 1 2

No, not BS. The Putin regime will be replaced by a regime chosen by or at least acceptable to the Russian people, whether pro-US or not. That said, I would frankly like to see Russia under progressive leadership as part of the EU as well as NATO, and lots of other countries as well. The Western democratic model that the EU operates under provides better quality of life, prosperity, and freedom for all people than any other system *yet devised* (factoring in much stricter regulation of neoliberal capitalism, which remains problematic); this is what the Ukrainians recognize and are fighting for, and what Russians and others would want for themselves as well. Encouraging broad membership in international bodies, and giving those bodies real power, leads to better management of global issues and problems, rather than continuing to engage in silly tribal wars. I’m in favor of human evolution and refuse to believe it’s not possible; if that’s naïve, so be it. 1 1 1 2

And there are all those people in the Russian hinterland who want Stalin to come back. There was a period of optimism under Gorbachev and Yeltsin, but the US itself may have botched that with “disaster capitalism” (see Naomi Klein). 1 1

Quite right, and if Putin were taken out by an external force, he would be replaced by even worse hardliners, which would be a nightmare. It needs to come from inside (even if Russia’s experience with revolutions has not always led to the best results!).

I doubt you're serious. Countries don't just assassinate other countries' leaders. Surely you understand that whoever replaces them could be worse. And it would be open season on every country's leaders. I doubt China would stand idly by. Fact is, if the US wanted to take out Putin or Kim Jong Un, they'd be dead already. They wouldn't have to wait for the two to be together. 1
