Digitalbanana Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Whats gone wrong with the Asean Now tweets? In the past the tweet would at least include a semblance of what the subject was about before we clicked on a link if it interested us. In the two examples below from today (and they are all like this now), there is no clue of subject content at all on the link. The second tweet is just a photo only with no information at all. Why would anyone want to subscribe to that on X? 1
CharlieH Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Seems to me you have a display problem. I just went and checked as a result of your post and its displaying as it should with the link etc and details below the pic/story.
Digitalbanana Posted October 7, 2023 Author Posted October 7, 2023 Well I am confused if it is just me. I tried it on multiple browsers on my PC, went to another PC with a clean install of Win11 and made a new X account, and still cannot get the text as you have using Edge browser. All my other received tweets from other accounts look normal. Very strange. 1
Digitalbanana Posted October 9, 2023 Author Posted October 9, 2023 Tried it on another PC with Linux and fresh install of Firefox, same problem on X - no explanatory text about the tweets, photos only. On Android devices, the Tweets look OK (as in your posts above). 1

Its not just you: X changes format for links to news posts, removing headlines and text X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, began changing how links to news posts appear in users’ feeds Wednesday night, removing headlines and text that were previously displayed alongside images. Most linked news articles now display only the article’s lead image on X, with a small link to the outlet’s main web address in the bottom-left corner to distinguish them from stand-alone images. https://thehill.com/policy/technology/4239923-x-changes-format-for-links-to-news-posts-removing-headlines-and-text/ 2 1

OK, but why would the headlines still appear on my X app on Android and not on desktop PC using browser?

They don't on my X app on Android. Exactly like in the OP. Is it about the app version? Mine comes as "Version 2" only?
Hamus Yaigh Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Seems like AseanNow done nothing to change things. The tweets are unintelligible in current format.
Digitalbanana Posted October 24, 2023 Author Posted October 24, 2023 Another highly informative X Tweet by Asian Now today. Will it ever end?
george Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 We are using the latest X API (formerly Twitter API). They are changing the policies and goalposts every other day. Headache! We are waiting for an update of that API. What a mess. And I can't get hold of Elon..😎 1
