Non Imm O-A Recent Experience Please
I am a USA citizen in the USA. I am looking at getting the Non Imm OA prior to going to Thailand. I am 68. I like the OA because I can do it from my country and keep all my monies in the USA initially. I will worry about extensions later. Anbody have some recent experience getting one of those visas? 1: What kind of Health Insurance did you get that satisfied the Visa requirements? 2: What did you get for the background/investigation report? In the past I did get a local police report for another reason, but this VISA seems to specify FBI or National agency? Does the FBI even do such a thing for you? I find it funny in a way because I have an active DOD Security clearance, but there is no way I can communicate that t Thai authorities that would satisfy the VISA statements they want. 3: Did you have timeline or expiration issues, such as the FBI report has to be withing two months of travel, or things like that? 4: I plan to list my Brokerage account as the financial satisfaction thing but could also use any of my IRAs. My accounts are all with Etrade and their statements including an income estimator are easily downloaded but The VISa seems to want some sort of letter from the bank. Has anybody gotten their financial institution to produce such a letter for either balance or income? 5: Any other unwritten things that you encountered that would make the process smoother? Anything else that you think might be useful please feel free to jot it down. Drinks on me when I get back to the LOS after a five year gap since 2019 -

Community Chiang Mai: Woman Drowns in Ping River After Leaving Message for Her Daughter
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. An incident unfolded in Chiang Mai on the early morning of 24 June, as a woman drowned in the Ping River after making a final phone call to leave money for her daughter. Rescue teams are continuing the search for her body after witnesses reported her disappearing beneath the strong current. Police from Mueang Chiang Mai Police Station received an emergency report regarding a distressed woman who was on the Pa Khoi Tai Bridge in the municipal area of Chiang Mai city. The caller also strangely gave the telephone number of the distressed woman. Initial attempts by officers to contact the woman and the person who reported the situation were unsuccessful, with more than ten calls going unanswered. Eventually, the alleged distressed woman returned the call, reportedly speaking in a hopeless tone, telling the officer, “I’m leaving 300 baht for my daughter,” before abruptly ending the conversation. She could not be reached again after that. A police patrol and rescuers were then dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival at the Pa Khoi Tai Bridge, officers spotted the woman struggling to stay afloat in the fast-flowing Ping River. Despite desperate efforts to swim to safety, she was visibly exhausted and battling the strong current. Rescue personnel entered the water and attempted to reach her, but the current overwhelmed her and she sank beneath the surface just as help approached. The incident occurred in full view of responders, both in the water and on the land, who were unable to save her in time. The Mae Jo Rescue Foundation, along with a team of divers, launched a search operation. The search continued all day, but the woman’s body has not yet been recovered. If you or anyone you know is in emotional distress, please contact the Samaritans of Thailand 24-hour hotline: 02 713 6791 (English), 02 713 6793 (Thai) or the Thai Mental Health Hotline at 1323 (Thai). Please also contact your friends or relatives at this time if you have feelings of loneliness, stress or depression. Seek out help. -

His family shared the incident on social media, noting the attacker was a soldier’s child. The incident, captured in a video posted on Facebook, shows a student in a red shirt kicking another student in uniform until he collapses. The attack took place on 28th May 2023. The victim, referred to as 'Tae', described being lured by younger students under the guise of playing sports, only to be assaulted. He suffered cuts and bruises, requiring hospital treatment. Tae's father stated that no apology has been received from the attacker or their family.
