Have you made up your mind about who is right and who is wrong? Or are you ready to admit that often it's not so easy.

Putin is the bad guy. Remove him!

Israel was attacked, they can do anything to fight back.

Stop misinformation, censor all the wrong info on the internet.

Trump is bad in every way.

The world will overheat, and we will all die.

Too many people are on this planet.

Many people will agree with above. And others will state that the opposite is true.

But it seems few people are willing to say: I don't know. I don't have enough information. It's complicated. I stay neutral.

For me, all of above statements are questionable.

I don't like Trump, but sometimes he makes sense and I understand why some people like him.

This time Israel was attacked, does that give them the right to block all supplies so that many innocent people will suffer and die?

If Putin would be removed, would his successor be a good guy?

Does it really make sense to use tremendous amounts of resources on the prediction that the world will be hotter in 100 years?

Why do so many people think they know what or who is good or bad?

Why is it so difficult for many to admit there is not just black and white but a lot of grey?

We don't need to have an opinion about everything. Saying "I don't know" is perfectly acceptable, at least for me.

What do you think?

I'm curious? Did Trump affect your life personally? Did he make things worse in the lives of most Americans? Did he start wars and send boys off to come back in body bags? Did he increase or decrease

I think you need to relax, smoke a fat one, and go back to the weed forum where we both belong ????

It's lonely going against the opinions of the majority sheeple.

There is another option.

"Based on what know  right now, this is my opinion , but I could be wrong. As more information comes in I am willing to change my mind"

I don't know what some people can never accept that they might be wrong. It's not like they have never been wrong before , then why cant they be wrong now?

Yes, I agree.

I think one problem is that most people don't want to admit that they were wrong and then change their mind.

If I start with: I don't really know, let's gather some more information, then it's easy to switch (in part) in any direction.

But if I once said A is right and B is wrong, then it's a lot more difficult to later admit that B is right.

I concur with the dilemma but my two cents is:

Someone might have things you like and don't like but weigh up and compare same with same. e.g. not hard to see Trump's weaknesses significantly outweigh any perceived strengths.

Don't condemn the whole based on parts e.g. some Democrats suck. Mainly on the fringe though. Some Democrat policies suck. But overall they best represent what I would want.

Don't exaggerate the problem e.g. Political correctness can be a problem. But not much in most people's lives.

Take it bit by bit e.g. Hamas did an extraordinarily barbaric thing. There are extreme arguments on both sides about how that should be interpreted but we can maybe agree that it is barbaric and a response is reasonable. Have to see how measured and reasonable it is. No need for conclusions now.

Don't ask for perfection - Governments, scientists, mainstream newspapers etc not perfect. But authority can come only from a track record, and being overly critical of a whole body of respected science due to one rogue scientist, or the New York Times for making a mistake when they fact check and correct the error, seems not fair.

Don't be influenced by personality over facts - youtube guy can make the reaction to covid seem bad. He knows how it should have been done after the fact. Selective with the facts.

I'm more about, "where does that thinking come from?" rather than, "yuck, get that thinking away from me".

So many people's basic beliefs are informed by their life trauma. Have those people done the personal work so that their beliefs proceed from a healed heart? If not, empathy will be lacking and I will be ghosting.

I am very, very anti-Trump. I come from the super-Trumpy BlueRidge Mountains. I have had great experiences with super trad/right people in a way that most soft-liberals have not. Trump and Fox News drove those sweet bible thumpers nuts.

As my wife (5th generation on that particular patch of land) put it:

"Trump even ruined The Confederate Flag. It used to be about, 'play Free Bird', now it's about nazi's.".

Too many questions for now, but why are you so anti Trump?

I take everything I read in the news, and peoples opinion about it,  with more than a grain of salt.

I mean . it's not that they have not lied to us many before,

So why can't they be lying to us now?? so NO!. I have not made up my mind about any information to which I don't have direct access to.

Most def. When I moved to Appalachian Dog Patch, USA, they were christian rednecks. Post-Trump, they became intolerable and we were getting hassled when out at the Walmart by cammo-wearing goobers -and then also by her brainwashed family while at home.

Plug in the red state health care complete abdication during Covid and we beat Cher out the door. I could not be happier that Jesus took his Covid scythe and cut them down - to quote a beloved song of the region.

Our congress rep. was a faith healer. Educated, well travelled people like you have no idea how stupid and bullying these people are. You would flee too.

Like my wife said, he even ruined Free Bird. If he gets in again, I would likely never go back.

Ah, so he didn't ruin everywhere then.

I love your rueful and brutally honest posts.

So I am really happy that you get to cosplay at being Trump Trash from your lofty, socialist perch with zero downside in real life terms. If they were like you, I wouldn't have left.

Everybody, left, right, center, any race and shade should be able to agree that Trump's behavior is a nightmare. No president or presidential candidate should behave like that. I find it especially hilarious that the so-called Christians support that guy.

That has nothing to do with his politics. An a$hole who thinks politically like me is still an a$hole.

I was out for a drink with a right-wing old friend(50+ years) shortly after Hamas invaded Israel. He admitted he had no opinion yet. My take was that he hadn't checked the right wing media yet so he hadn't been told what he needs to think.

Of course he did.

The remaining of your post is a strawman devise where you set up scenarios that are easily  defeated.

All the people that took his advice concerning covid and died , I would say were personally affected.

The degradation  of American civil society and politics has affected every American personally.

The people that went to jail for the incirection he incited were affected personally.

The loss of American standing in the world has affected every american personally.

The millions of Americans who lost their medical insurance during the trump administration were personally affected.

Should I go on? I can do this all day but my typing fingers are getting tired.

Last year, Chiang Mais pot bars had a fair few Ukranians AND Russian draft dodgers, passing bongs back and forth.

At one such historic encounter where I was bud-tending, I got to utter the astonishing phrase, "Igor, meet Igor" -possibly for the first and last time ever. It was We Are The World, Igor-style. They were both super-relieved to be smoking Lebanese hash instead of dodging bullets.

I really like that aspect of Thailand that is like The French Foreign Legion, where the past is diplomatically forgotten while people develop convenient amnesia and just chase their hedonism of choice.

So if some barely continent, chavvy old Brits and their bogan counterpoints want blow Trump to get a little hard, amusement and forgiveness (Igor-style) are the only correct response.

On my side, I promise never to rub Brexit in, which would be the American equivalent of pub bores pretending that Trump doesn't laugh at them from his gold-plated toilet -and wouldn't love to see them quashed under the thumbs of Putin or Xi.

The correlation between raped by bar girls chumps and Trump-blowing retards seems to run about 70% here.

Regarding any of the current wars at trend, there is a diametrical difference in reporting amongst the global media networks.

CNN will of course maintain their usual anti-Trump, anti-Putin,  pro Biden, pro Israël dogma. Same for Euronews or EU networks. That's fine.

Al Jazeera appears to provide a different scope  that feels more of a  neutral stance, citing the horrors on both sides and challenging people from both parties.

At the end of the day, it's you and only you to decide for yourself. Not the mainstream medias to dictate their lines of thought and influence.

Trump was elected because a large segment of the population want(ed) Washington destroyed, IMO. He may not have been the actual destroyer, but he was as close as they were likely to get, so they went for him, and the Dems put up the worst possible candidate and lost because of it. Had they not sabotaged Bernie they likely would have won.

Personally I like Trump BECAUSE he is a brash, flamboyant, loud mouthed nightmare, and as I said way back he was going to give us interesting times. He sure did that!

I hope he continues to stick it in the eye of the Washington establishment for 4 more years. They deserve him.

I guess the window in which I agreed with many of your posts just closed, at least on that one.

I could respond to each sentence but I have other things to do with my time as well, so I won't.

I'll just say that Washington, by its corruption, arrogance and waste of money policies was the reason Trump got elected, IMO, when such a man should not have even won a single primary. Basically, Trump was a self inflicted wound by Washington.

Having defeated him with a mumbling geriatric, what did they do? Circus clowns could have done a better job than the bumblers in the W H and congress.

If Trump wins again, those politicians that despise him should look in the mirror to see the reason for that.

Not at all , confirmation of one's beliefs has little value, other than mental mastubation.

I tend to be a bit controversial and as such get many emoji reactions , I never look at them! I only look at the quotes.

I want to see who likes me . But it is an addiction. We are edited to the pleasure chemicals secreted in our brains , when our beliefs are confirmed, when ge are liked.

You must resist. You learn little  by having your beliefs confirmand!

You learn and grow, when people disagree with you . Even though you might not agree with what the other person thinks, without realising it another vector has been created in your mind . something else to consider next time you ponder the particular issue.

Nothing delights me more, than when I get a quote replies that disagrees with me.

You and I have been disagreeing lately on another topic... but on this one you are spot on... you will never get an answer from the anti-Trumpers why they expend so much time and effort letting Trump live in their heads... it's like a disease with no cure.  Part of the reason is that they know deep down that "mean tweets" is so frivolous a reason that it would make them petty and look silly.

Bring on more of Trumps behavior is what I say... yes... he's an <deleted> but I liked that better than the sneaky corrupt swamp that has flourished in D.C. in recent years.  I can deal with and ignore mean tweets.

Yes but the corruption in Washington is possible because of us. We have the power to end it.

But we don't, because we  possess " "A little knowledge"

what is meant by the Proverb: "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing."

Propaganda is only effective if it contains a part of the truth.  and You having a little knowledge , and not knowing the whole truth. the "yes but"  buy into it.

Not only do you buy into it but you delight and defend it , because it confirmed your bias and as such it is pleasurable, you swim in Endorphins, and dopamine, you become a dope LOL and dopes elect trumps.

Can you please explain that in plain English?

I have no idea what are "raped by bar girls chumps"?

And what are "Trump-blowing retards"?

Many Trump blowing retards here (retards who blow Trump, or would if they could) end up in financially disastrous bar girl relationships.

That delights me.

Some of us, including myself, just don't understand how intelligent people would support a maniac like him.

From outside of the USA it is sometimes funny to look at these idiots.

But imagine you are a smart and reasonable person in the USA and then you have a president like that who represents you all over the world. What a disgrace.

And if you don't understand what is repelling about that guy then maybe you are like the frog who didn't jump out of the hot water.

Indeed we can agree on one topic while being opposed on another.

I suspect psychology courses of the future will be able to have entire lectures that concern only the reasons for such OTT opinions for and against Trump.

For myself, I knew of Trump before he campaigned for POTUS, but never watched his tv show or gave him much thought.

For me he is a symbol of the anti Washington movement in the US, and I support him as that symbol, but not as the man.

Bit like how in the military I had to salute the rank ( but not the person ) of officers I did not like.
