Sourpuss Waitresses.

what is it with these moody waitresses in Thailand

I just ordered an english breakfast and the eggs were very runny

I asked if the chef could put them back on the fry for a minute and she looked at me like i'd just farted.

then she said 'next time you say well done OK'

well I never

the bloody cheek

eggs well done??

whatever next..

then when she came back she literally threw the plate at me and almost spilt my tea all over me

she then started the obligatory bad mouthing me to her buddies in Thai..

what is wrong with these people at all

i've never known a population so sensitive to a bit of criticism

and the service really is shocking at times

this is not an isolated incident, many similar situations have happened to me over the years.

if you don't like your job then quit!

with an attitude like that its a miracle that anyone would want to hire you in the first place!!!

  • Up to you, but you may not get the result you expect.    If you and Will B frequent the same establishment can't you synchronize your visit and annoy each other and not other people. 🤔

I always ask for scrambled eggs, fried eggs either not done or all burnt around the edges,

No, but he did. Pay attention and not simply waffle.

I would never complain about how the food is cooked and send

it back to be cooked more , there's a good chance the cook could

at the least spit on it , next time say  "over easy" .........

Always find them happy and I if I needed something I would say it in a humble way. Maybe you were still slurring your words from the drink the night before. Time to get it together Bob. Time to get an Action Plan.

It’s a matter that happened inside Thailand and this is a Thai forum,

Now buzz off if you don’t like it!!!

Smile. If she's having a bad day doesn't have to worry you. Don't let the minutae in life get you down. But as I haven't experienced this, in fact most waitresses are super kind and friendly, it could have been your attitude. Maybe not.

One thing I've noticed is when I do regular hard exercise things don't worry me but otherwise little things get me down. Something to consider.

Whether she is having a bad day or not is none of my business. A waitress is there to serve customers, supposedly with a smile, not with aggression and hostility.

Then you should well know, don’t complain about the food that is served to you in Thailand, because it’s considered an insult. Adapt with politeness or buzz off 😃

Adapt with politeness?

how long have you been here? You sound like you’ve just got off the boat or are on a 2 week holiday..

Your logic is baffling to me.

your wife’s not a waitress is she? 😂

If not last time, then maybe every time going forward now 🙂

Many advantages in a Thai wife/GF - one is she can ask politely for anything I order to be 'well done please'.

Once anything is delivered here - you cannot send it back - that is an insult - but leaving it mainly uneaten is OK.

This aint Kansas Toto - you need to change - not 'them'.

It isn't rude if you'd like your eggs cooked the right way. That's called service, which is what a restaurant that serves customers for money is supposed to do. Complaining about anything is how things are corrected, from bad wifi, to bad electric company maintenance, to food served, to corruption in police forces. If you don't complain, they will think what they are doing is okay, and mai pen rai doesn't work in the real world.
