Expert Urges Government To Raise Tax For Foreign Condo Buyers
If someone is looking at retiring to Thailand in the near future, they probably should consider moving their 800k, buying a condo, buying a car (if they want a car) and living expenses for a while, and then staying outside of Thailand in that tax year. Moth ball the condo and car. Why risk paying tax on all the funds, for the sake of staying out of Thailand just for 6 months? -

Tyres: All Season or Summer
LOL you must hail from a relatively weather neutral place...probably on the hot side ? Depending where you are it is a topic for sure. In BC, in the winter months in some regions you need to have a winter rated tire on your vehicle or you cannot drive the roads thru the mountains, as they get hairy at times with wild snow squals...but those tires yo would not want to run from April to October if you were most often in the Vancouver area, you would have two sets and swap -

Am I High?: At the moment, I am loaded up on a high dosage of Amoxicillin. Am I high?
Dear Folks, I have a bad tooth infection, and I know I need this tooth, one which has already had root-canal therapy, extracted....ASAP. But, The Question IS: Do you think I am high on Amoxicillin? And, is it even possible to get HIGH on Penicillin? Personally, I think it is. I am feeling a bit spacey, even more spaced-out than usual. My pain is flowing away, though, and so I do not care much. Or, maybe it is this incessant rain, recently, and especially this evening....that makes me feel out of touch with reality. So.... If you take ENOUGH Amoxicillin, can this cause one to experience a Break with Reality? Also, I wonder: How much Amoxy is just too much Amoxy? Fortunately, I have a dynamite dentist, and therefore soon I will be weaned off these antibiotics....before....I become addicted.....maybe. Lastly, I will tell you.... No matter how bad the pain gets....I never take anything stronger than Ibuprofen, something which I have always found works rather well. I have never enjoyed dental pain, and I guess many of you might feel as do I. I feel sorry for those who have not the means to seek out good dental care....because.... I am blessed to have one of the best dentists here in Thailand, compared to others in Taiwan, that I have ever had. Also, they are super nice.....my dentists and my office receptionists. Yes. I am high. But, I am not HIGH on Amoxy. I think I might be a little high on PAIN.....! Pain, for me, has always been one of the most potent aphrodisiacs. Both pain and Afros. My best adivce to all young people is to take care of your teeth. And, avoid sugar, both for dental health and also in order to avoid Afrosclerosis. Best regards, Gamma Note: If you might have any Dental-Pain stories to tell.... Here is the place. I love hearing others' dental-pain stories, when I am feeling dental pain, just as a very welcome distraction from my own pain. Thank you! -

world wide income taxation update
Your post indicates the Thai's will implement this policy to the letter of the law, for everyone. I don't have that confidence in them, for the majority of expats. My opinion is they will pull out the law book for high net worth individuals. For the rest, I have a feeling it very well may be another BS earner for visa / extension, paying for a TRD document, similar to the Certificate of Residence that we pay 300 baht for, but should be free. Time will tell. -

Good Surgeon Gallbladder Removal
This doesn't answer your question, but gallbladder removal is a very common procedure. While it's always a good idea to find the best surgeon, this is perhaps one procedure where you don't need to stress about finding the right surgeon for the job. Gallbladder removals along with hernia repairs are amongst the most common and most straightforward operations. -

Stealing a Federal Election
Look back on the 2016 election, you'll see that around 2 weeks before the election DT was already crying that the election was rigged against him. When the vote came out in his favor some election entity should have called him on the rug and demanded info in this regard ("Russia, if you're listening . . . "). The way DT keeps bringing up russiarussiarussia in attempt to keep in front of it he is actually reminding us of it. -

Voter registration is spiking, particularly among young adults
Here's another report about the surge in young people voting. It's off the charts. I couldn't find a written report about this so the video will have to do: https://www.msnbc.com/weekends-with-alex-witt/watch/-astonishing-breaking-down-the-massive-organic-surge-in-young-voter-registration-218385989726 -

Australian Aged Pension
Something discussed months ago, yet, some either forgot, disbelieve, or refuse to accept. Changed to 30% recently. Not much better though. The pension is deemed and income. The pension is taxable. Expats are non residents, but hey, it's only for guy guys like Paul Hogan. Centerlink know you are outside Australia, but fear not Centerlink, it's the TRD an Aussie pensioner must fear.
