DE FACTO PHEU THAI boss-cum-convict Thaksin Shinawatra has been officially allowed to stay beyond a 60-day limit at Police Hospital, a partisan source said over the weekend.

Corrections Department director-general Sahakarn Petnarin has already allowed the “sickly” Thaksin to stay on at Police Hospital beyond the 60-day limit, which is otherwise scheduled to end tomorrow (Oct.22) though details of his “illnesses” have invariably remained a mystery to the public.

How much longer the de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict could possibly be allowed to stay at the hospital will primarily depend on decisions of the doctors who have been taking care of him, according to the department chief.

yell that to the 3000 dead in his war on drugs

You got evidence and a court room judgement on that? If it is so clear, then why wasn't he prosecuted on this first. This being the far most serious case? No, thought not, usual brain dead comments from the brain dead.

In 2005, the UN Human Rights Committee raised serious concerns about the "extraordinarily large number of killings" that took place during the ‘war' and recommended that thorough and independent investigations be undertaken.4 Then UN Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial, Summary or Arbitrary Executions, Asma Jahangir, sent an urgent communication to the Thai government in 2003.5 In its response, Thailand said that every unnatural death would be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the law.6 To date, none of the perpetrators of arbitrary killings have been brought to justice.

this is Thai justice   Thailand should be ashamed

So he hasn't been tried yet by the ICC? Being investigated and being found guilty are two different things. Yes I can read....and think better, apparently than you can.

Yawn. Investigation is not the same as guilt whatever your twisted mind says and however much you might hate Thaksin.

This is no longer funny, this is down right criminal, still not a word spoken or written about outstanding charges. They have enough time to rent equipment and repaint a room at the prison hospital and at least move him back inside the prison grounds. People would then feel that justice is being served. The problem is too many people are keeping quite. This is not going to end well, the minute he walks away from hospital, and then doesn't serve more time or go to court. he then opens his mouth and starts involving himself in the government, the preverbal will hit the fan for sure.

so you condone Thaskin action of killing 3000 people Guilty or not he should rot in jail

If the 3000 were guilty as you say and knew the consequences of their illegal drug smuggling/pedalling actions (the clampdown etc was well advertised) then I do condone it! As I do of all actions against drug pedlars & smugglers!

Where did i say the 3000 were guilty   I said 3000 were killed,  you need to read Thai history Thailand should hang its head in shame,

When the Independent Committee on the Casualties of the 2003 War on Drugs established by the Surayud Chulanont government published its report in 2008, it concluded that 1,372 of the people killed had had no drug related records.

More importantly, the chair of the commission concluded that all3000 killings should be considered crimes against humanity. Since the day the report was published, not a single case has been pursued.

My take.

I've been here for 12 years.

I'm in Samui.

During the difficulties of the C.v.d years, locally, many lost their business and far more lost their jobs.

Thais could always easily find another job.

Samui is a tourist destination, it brought employment for many Thais, northern eastern, southern etc.

At that stage with a different

govern m ENt Thais from all over would have accepted T's return, assuming it would have been an improvement on the previous.

Any thoughts?

The plan is working and going to what we talked about, soon it will be sorted and the  freedom date  will be here soon enough without spending a day in prison really.

I think the most recent projection was for February 2024, for release.

I suspect something closer to New Year's, if not sooner.

Full pardon for an end-of-year present, or home confinement through Feb.

The UN? More corrupt than Thailand ever was or will be. It's like having a dog and barking yourself - The UN needs bringing to book about it's finances and where all the money actually goes.

Using them for credence? Not the best idea you've ever had.

Who cares if the UN is corrupt or not the POINT is "Thailand said that every unnatural death would be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the law.6 To date, none of the perpetrators of arbitrary killings have been brought to justice."

is this going to be the next drum to beat? The red bull drum has been worn out so let's try this one? Do you even know who the people were who were "murdered" & why they were "murdered"? Let alone who carried the murders out, where, how and who gave the order for it to be done? No. You just spout bar room BS and drivel you've read somewhere that was scribed by a censored media anyway.

What do you care anyway about what happened? Seriously, what has it got to do with you?

The General Surayud Chulanont administration was not a ‘government’ but a military junta, that removed Thaksin as PM in a coup in 2006.

Not to mention the war on drugs was sanctioned in a certain birthday speech from someone we cannot mention here.
