Hard to believe its 34 years tomorrow since the Seacrest sunk in the Gulf. For a few of us a good friend was lost that day. Just a reminder how cruel nature can be sometimes.

I had a friend/workmate who went down on it too.

I did not know anyone on it, but it's good to recall these events and to honour your friends memory. I worked on the Seacrest on the 3rd or 4th well ever drilled by it for Total in Indonesia. Not a bad rig, but I was glad to get off it.

I knew a couple of guys working on the Seacrest. I was living in Songkhla at the time and it was bad. Of course, the majority of the guys on the ship were Thai and it was very sad to see the families gathering in the Amarit yard everyday hoping to hear some news of their loved ones.
