A female party entertainer in the northern province of Lamphun accused a police officer of raping and physically assaulting her. The accused officer denied the allegations.

 

The 25 year old party entertainer, identified as A, filed a complaint at Mueang Jee Police Station on November 22 that a Chiang Mai province police officer had raped and assaulted her in Nong Narm district of Lamphun province.

 

The woman was taken to Lamphun Hospital for a medical examination to find evidence to support her complaint. The results of the examination have not yet been released.

 

Police then checked the name of the officer mentioned by the woman in their database and discovered that the officer was a deputy superintendent of a Chiang Mai Police Station.

 

The accused officer turned himself in at Mueang Jee Police Station yesterday, November 28. He was charged with sexual assault and forcible sexual assault but denied all charges.

 

Mueang Jee Police Station Superintendent Piyapong Chamnarn told ThaiRath that he could not reveal the identity of the accused officer or give further details about the case. He said he would have to wait for the results of the medical examination before proceeding with the investigation.
