Popular Post Goat
Good afternoon. Very interesting take from famous Pattaya Vlogger, tech guru, love matchmaker, historian and businessman Dan Cheeseman. i dont always agree with Dan but on this I do. Why do I care? Because the Thais dont like it and unfortunately most of Thai people do not know if a farang is Australian, British or whatever. So the whinging Brits annoy the lovely local people and it affects all of us. Plus if you have to listen to it it can really put a dampner on a good time or make a difficult situation even worse. Thais are not known for their complaining or sweating the small stuff. Mentally strong. Ironically I often hear these Brits complaining that their own country has been taken over by immigrants who will not assimilate or learn the language. But they act like this in Thailand. So i request that the Brits either pull their heads in and learn some manners. Or just return home and let us all live in peace and harmony. 3 1 18 3 4 2 7

I didn't meet many, but the ones I did meet were true to form. You don't get a label like this without there being some substance to it. I didn't make up the name and I had no idea who did and how it had been used... it might have started at the dawn of the British colonization of these 2 nations. I think it is a general British personality trait. Whinging makes them feel good. It's part of their DNA 3 1 2 1 1 5

Though Brits would never admit it here amid their constant whinging, on a different forum one of them notes: Yeah, us POMS do whinge. I think they all do it in the UK now to such a degree thats its the norm! You've surely heard that old Australian joke: How can you tell that a planeload of Brits has just landed? PERFECT? lol dont you mean perfectly? adverb with verbs... not adjectives. except for received pronunciation which was created out of a need for brits to understand each other... i can say after having travelled england that most dialects arent that easy to understand and most of england speaks in dialects except for those who have learned received pronunciation. goat... i kinda have to agree with you on this one. but... there are some cool brits (many) and i think of britmantoo as an example. but i do have to say that in the staff rooms i have worked with many english nationalities that the brits did seem to have something to iron out the most... 4 2 2

He's an interesting guy though I can't work out his motivation. This particular video is ludicrous focusing as it does on Pattaya sexpats breakfast sausages. That is the joy of Dan's videos - the juxtaposition of vaguely philosophical pondering and the absurd reality of his Pattaya life. He's obviously a good man and a responsible father.I think he also has a genuine entrepreneurial instinct. What he needs to do is get away from the scummy Pattaya environment and move up a few notches. How embarrassing it must be to be flogging those horrible Pattaya condos and third rate restaurants.Maybe some elocution lessons too as that sarf London accent is going to put a lot of serious business people off though probably not in Pattaya where it is pretty much the norm. Unfortunately here in Thailand I experienced that it is impossible to have a fluent conversation with a native English speaking individu. Is it their accent, their speedness, their dialect, their level of education, I don't know. On the contrary when conversating with any other European people I understand despite our sometimes ridicoulous accents. Can anyone explain? 1 3

I like to say the Russians to p*ss off all the bigots, but in fact the Russian tourists speak little to no English.
