The much-anticipated new Hua Hin Train Station is set to commence its operations next week, marking a significant development in the region’s transportation network.

The State Railway of Thailand has announced that starting from December 11, 2023, all ticketing services will transition to the new facility, coinciding with the closure of the old Hua Hin Station.

From December 15, trains to and from Hua Hin will start to use the new elevated train station. You can find the new timetable here.

Thereafter, more services, such as the retail space, will be integrated into the new station.

Located just a short walk south of its predecessor, the new Hua Hin Station promises a modern and efficient travel experience for passengers.

It is a behemoth with big money spent probably will get its full use in 10 years.

Modern and efficient travel experience?  Maybe think about investing in some real trains instead of 1960 slow poke noisy cheap uncomfortable old ones.

I used to travel from nakhon pathom to Hua Hin 3-hrs on the "1960 slow poke" train for 30 baht.

Surrounded by locals who used it frequently to get to their daily work.

30 baht per head doesn't buy you the "Shinkansen class train"

locals certainly wouldn't pay the extra yo use it.

Have they put an Lift for the wheelchair bound? rhetorical question, escalators are not a lot of use for them.

Thank you and exactly my thought being an elderly gent with mobility problems these days.

Fortunatley, "yes". For reference:

Lifts: Elevating accessibility to new heights, two lifts have been installed in the station, granting access to all levels, including the platform. These lifts enable individuals with mobility impairments, parents with strollers, and those carrying heavy luggage to navigate the station with ease.
