webfact
A Gulf Air routine flight GF250 took an unexpected detour from Bahrain to Dhaka, diving into an emergency landing in Bangkok. The gripping incident unfolded as the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, flight A9C-FE, grappled with foggy mayhem and fuel crises. A Gulf Air Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, en route from Bahrain to Dhaka, plunged into a nail-biting emergency over Bangkok. The routine journey of flight GF250 took an unforeseen twist as A9C-FE declared a crisis mid-air. Gulf Air’s fleet, boasting ten Boeing 787-9 variants, faced the ultimate test as A9C-FE, a Dreamliner more than five years old, bore the weight of an emergency diversion. With eight 787-9s actively soaring and two temporarily grounded, the airline maintains an average fleet age of 4.6 years. As the incident unfolded, questions arose about the fleet’s endurance and preparedness for unexpected challenges. by Puntid Tantivangphaisal Photo courtesy of Aviation Source News Full story: The Thaiger 2023-12-13 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post ezzra
Funny story with Gulf Air, flew back to Bkk with them from a middle east destination, landed at Bahrain airport on a stop over, bought myself an expensive bottle of whisky and we got on our way only to be stopped in Singapore where we were led into a room, had our carry on luggage searched and my bottle of whiskey take away citing the 100ml rule and were led back to the plane, I didn't let it slide and raised hell with the airline as to why we were allowed to by liquids only to be take away from us few hours later and sure enough was fully compensated with an apology... Popular Post swm59nj
The 787 ran into dense fog effecting the landing. So the pilot diverted to a landing in Bangkok. Diversions like to another airport are not unusual due to poor visibility. The squawk 7700 is an alert sent declaring an emergency. The emergency can be an environmental issue, such as the fog. Running low on fuel could be that plane kept circling the airport hoping the fog could clear. And had to divert due to remaining fuel Or a separate issue. But that part of the story isn’t clear. 2 4

All aircraft depart for their destination with a calculated fuel level plus an extra percentage for such events. On top of that figure they also have a "reserve fuel level" which usually should never be needed/used. They also punch-in to their data-base other airport locations should a diversion be needed. If these cannot be used then arrangements between the aircraft and air-traffic control are made. The pilots are full aware of fuel levels when held in a holding pattern due to bad weather conditions The 7700 code is the aircrafts transponder [which squawks silently] it's location to air traffic control, and indicates they have declared a Pan Pan Pan which gives them a priority over other aircraft and not an emergency "May-day". herfiehandbag
It is probably a good idea, if you are going to do " cut and paste journalism", to cut from relevant materials? The wranglings over Bobby Charlton's funeral arrangements are hard to connect with a flight diversion in South East Asia! Don't have sub editors on Thaiger do you!

Popular Post Dcheech
No clue what this journo is yammering on about ... A shocking diversion? The subcontinent gets heavy pollution in the non rains like SEA. As such the pilot diverted to Bangkok. No problems. However Quote Boeing 787 emergency dive Quote As the incident unfolded, questions arose about the fleet’s endurance and preparedness for unexpected challenges. Perhaps the journo is trying to discredit Gulf Air, or 787's as these pigs appear for no reason. Then again this is Thaiger, trying to set the bar a little lower would be par for their course.
