Ping Pong Ball Show

Stickman laments that this trashy attraction may be gone for good.

Me: Read about it in The Lonely Planet Guide in '88. Were it not for them denouncing it, I would have never known to go take a look.

Had a ping pong ball ponged off of my forehead (I volunteered). We dutifully paid for each round of drinks so as not to fleeced at the end (which condemnatory Lonely Planet suggested).

I thought it was interesting rather than entertaining, and educational as well, being an introduction to things never dreamed of in the Antipodean sexual desert I grew up in. Back there, a girl taking

I guess over the years I saw most of what's available. I don't like most of them and some are disgusting.

The only show which I like, but I haven't seen it lately, is when the girls are painted with UV paint. Some of those artists do great jobs. And then let the girls move. Nice.

Once, on my first visit to Thailand, 26 years ago. Upstairs bar in Patpong, close to where the passage to Patpong 2 is. Ping pong, darts, and fish show... Seemed a good offer, just costing me the price of reasonably priced beer, or so I thought. When I was about to pay, however, suddenly bright lights came on, and for the first time I saw a sign on the opposite wall about a 'cover charge'. (I wouldn't be surprised, if they had just put it there.) - I protested however, just paid for my beers, and quickly left. After they tried this scam on me, I never bothered to see such a show again. Seeing it once was enough anyway...

As long as they survived their prime years that alright. ;)

I've never spoken to anyone who actually saw a Tijuana Donkey show. Or admitted to it anyway. I really hope that one was an urban legend.

Actually....... I did have one land in my beer also in Patpong in (I think) 1985!!!

Being with "the guys" from Saudi, I naturally drank the beer, which, being Kloster, tasted better than usual! 🍺🍺

Patpong 1998, shooting darts to pop balloons on the ceiling was impressive, i was expecting to be ripped off when i left but wasn't

If Stickman might have wanted to see the epitome of trashy,...

Then...

He should have gone next-door, to the other venue....

Where the girls shoot ping pong balls out their posterior end.

You are welcome to get hit in the noggin with one of these off-color balls, if you wish.

Drinks on me, if you do.

If you are the kind of person who surveys and cross examines people about whether or not they have seen donkey on human sex, you are def my kind of person.

They had the same thing on Walking Street. Saw it in both places. Not particularly edifying, but went along with foreign girls who were curious to see the show. No attempts at ‘rip offs’ were made at either place.
There was none of that shooting at the ceiling nonsense. We had to hold the balloon 👀

I saw a number of such shows and in none of them did the girls "shoot" ping pong balls. They "shot" darts at balloons, but that is completely different.

IMO it's an urban myth that they "shoot" ping pong balls.

Should have gone to Nana Plaza. No covercharge and shows included.

Patpong was a dump in comparison, and I only went there once a trip to see if it had improved, but it never did.

I liked those shows as well. I'll never forget my first time at Hollywood Royale, the absolute best Gogo in Bkk, when the show started. Something mind boggling for a guy from the sexual desert in the Antipodes.

That was a great bar. I don't remember when it closed (or at least had the name changed), maybe 20 years ago?

Why? Most of the guys in the audience wanted to go where the goldfish had been, perhaps not with her in particular, but you know what I mean.

I always thought the "lesbian" bit was an act, till I got seated beside the stage one time, and nothing "pretending" about it.

I didn't like the dart shooting as those darts were tipped with sharp pins, and if they were coming my way I was hiding under the table.

It was indeed. Many a night I went back to hotel after dawn. Only 2 bars in Nana stayed open that late, and Hollywood was the best. I usually gave up before the doors closed, and usually alone as all the best girls had been bar fined long before.

It was a go to place for the expats working in well paid jobs in Bkk, but the financial crisis saw many of them leave. IMO the early to mid 90s were the best times for farang night entertainment, and will never be seen again

I always stayed at Dynasty Inn a minute away, so I didn't have to travel far to get there. That was a great hotel till the owner died and ( I was told his son ) took it over and spoiled it. The bag store was always full of bags from regulars while they were away working, till then.

On longer visits I stayed at Uncle Charlie's out the back of Dynasty. It was a dump, but it was cheap. Eventually Dynasty took it over and another landmark from the "good old days" was gone.

About 20 years ago would be right. purachai's ( may he rot in hell ) crusade against farang night entertainment ruined it, I presume. Anyway, it got sold, the name changed and it went from hero to zero in my estimation.

You must be a blast at parties, not.

The girls that did the goldfish shows were typically the #3's that couldn't turn enough tricks to make a buck. Not somewhere I'd ever want to go :bah:

Which is why I specifically stated not necessarily with her. Some customers were so drunk though, that they likely got some offers.

Perhaps the chemicals were carcinogenic. Not something I have researched, but just about everything is bad for us these days. Even life is a terminal disease.

How could he have seen a show of the type that you just made up?

Huh?  Which chemicals are there "perhaps" in ping pong balls?

Went once in 1992.........can't say it was particularly entertaining.

So you think that there is such a thing as "medical grade black light paint"?!   Fluorescent paint or UV light is not dangerous, never mind carcinogenic.
