Somebody mentioned the 1984 BBC series, Edge of Darkness, so I managed to find it on Pirate Bays and download it. Have watched the first 2 episodes and thought them very good.

 

The guy who plays Craven in the above has that certain something about him, which is intiguing (and great acting) therefore will be keen to see the remaing episodes I have downloaded.

 

I have seen the Mel Gibson movie of the same name and thought that was good also.

I've just finished watching season 1 of Wisting and it was very good IMHO. I'm just about to start seasons 2-3. It was recommended by @recom273. It's a Norwegian crime drama. Worth a look IMHO. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7875794/

I remember watching that in the UK when it came out. I thought it was good (then) but my memory of it is that it was very dark.

I watched entire trial. Hated the DA. So annoying, rude, and condescending. He made me ask myself if people actually vote not guilty out of spite to a lawyer’s behavior.

Thought this was terrific.

 

Octopuses are like aliens on Earth: three hearts, blue blood and the ability to squeeze through a space the size of their eyeballs. But there is so much more to these weird and wonderful animals.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but I'll mention it again. Shogun is well worth watching and currently at a 9.0 on imdb.  I read the book a few times over the years as well as James Clavelle's other novels and I found this series to be highly entertaining and very well done.

Saw "The Fall Guy", action/comedy today and was very pleasantly surprised. Decent story, good acting, great cinematography and soundtrack, nice stunts and whatnot. 8.5/10

Saw "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" today and it was pretty good for what it was. Pretty epic visually, but I did not care much for the lead actors. It could have been shorter. 6/10

It did get better as it went on. The 1980 original, however, is better. First, in the role of Mariko, the stunningly beautiful Yoko Shimada with the anime eyes is so much better than squint-eyed robo-cheeks Anna Sawai. And it's so much more enjoyable to watch Richard Chamberlain, a real actor, master his role, instead of the grunts coming out of Cosmo Jarvis. The original Shogun, too, was shot in Japan. The photography makes use of high contrast color, instead of the low contrast grayscaling in the new Shogun, where every day in Japan is made to look cloudy or rainy just like Canada where it was shot. I'll not go into storytelling other than to note that the TV and filmmakers of 40-50 years ago realized that every scene, shot, and line had one purpose--advance the plot--instead of quizzically drawn out shots that wallow around for no purpose.
