City officials in Pattaya launched a cleanup operation on Wednesday along the coastline of Cape Bali Hai to tackle a significant accumulation of marine debris.

The January 10th initiative was led by Deputy Mayor Manoch Nongyai and joined by the Office of the Natural Resources and Environment and their dedicated staff.

The operation, which began at dawn, uncovered a concerning amount of marine debris, such as plastic bottles and bags, paper scraps, foam boxes, and remnants of fishing equipment. This waste had marred the picturesque landscape of Cape Bali Hai, but undeterred, the officials diligently worked together to remove the garbage to restore the area’s natural beauty.

Isn't most of the (s)crap in that picture the remains of a multi-million baht floating dock that was never completed?

Quite possibly.

Yes it's the remains of the floating dock that the boat owners never used and quickly fell into dis-repair

I remember about 15 or so years ago I was walking along Pattaya beach road. The day before there had been a big swell on the sea.

Along the length of the beach on the waterline there was a pile of garbage washed up about 1.5 foot high and 3 or 4 foot in width.

I remember watching one of the beach vendors trying to push it back into the sea with the back of a rake.
