Community Hong Kong Businessman’s Suicide at Bangkok Shipping Company After Brief Meeting
Picture courtesy of Matichon. A Hong Kong national took his own life at a Bangkok logistics company shortly after arriving for a business meeting, authorities confirmed on 5 June. Pol Col Anan Warasart, Superintendent of Bang Khen Police Station, along with Pol Lt Col Kosonpiya Sima, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation, and Pol Lt Col Pornchai Wongprasertkan, Investigation Inspector, responded to the scene at a parcel delivery firm located on Soi Ram Inthra 21, Intersection 16, in the Anusawari subdistrict of Bang Khen, Bangkok. The company, which specialises in online parcel delivery, became the scene of a shocking incident when staff heard a single gunshot coming from a meeting room shortly after the man had arrived for business talks. Police said the man, who was identified through a Hong Kong passport found on his person, was discovered lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to the head. An automatic handgun was found on the floor beside his left side. He had reportedly been left alone in the meeting room to await further discussions. Witnesses stated that the deceased had been on the premises for only around five minutes before the fatal shot was heard. Staff rushed in but found the man unresponsive and immediately contacted the police. Forensic officers were dispatched to the site to conduct a thorough investigation, and the area was cordoned off to prevent contamination of the scene. The motive behind the apparent suicide remains unknown and investigators are continuing to gather evidence and interview those connected with the incident.
